Kelvin Hotel exceeded our expectations for a last-minute party reservation. Hayley, the booking manager, was exceptional in accommodating our needs and suggesting the perfect space for our intimate gathering. The Level One private area was ideal, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. The staff's friendly and attentive service throughout the evening contributed to a truly memorable celebration for my daughter. We are incredibly grateful for the Kelvin Hotel team's professionalism and dedication to ensuring a fantastic experience. 10 stars for you guys!!!!
I have had very lovely meals and experiences at the restaurant here in the past. Unfortunately for our experience tonight, 2 stars is extremely generous. Right from coming in at 7pm on a Saturday night there was a very loud children’s birthday going on with music and dancing which ruined any kind of ambience of the restaurant. Our party of 4 was handling that as we knew the end point could not be far away, however it did still go on for an uncomfortable length of time where we had to practically shout our orders. We could have forgiven that however but the food was very poor. My salmon meal contained over cooked hard stuck together rice and raw carrots. The odd flavoured sauce mixed in to parts of the rice was not edible. The other members of our party had very average meals also. I ordered a Japanese slipper cocktail which I have had there on multiple occasions and I could only have a few sips. The sweet melon flavour was overwhelming like a budget flat fizzy drink it did not taste like it’s supposed to. If all that wasn’t enough the service was terrible, the staff looked and interacted with zero expression or interest in what was going on. Our main server in particular needs some serious work on how to interact with customers and how to handle taking plates off the table or putting them on it. And worst of all after deciding I should try and make my complaint as nice as possible about the food and drink it was met with complete doubt that it was valid, no apology or sympathy and no offer of any money off the bill. I would have been ok to just not to pay for the drink which I left 90% of and that would have been enough of a gesture for me to not leave this review. Absolutely not good enough and we won’t be back in the future.
I recently used Kelvin Hotel for a workshop and cannot speak highly enough of them! Hayley, the function manager, is amazing and sorted out my last-minute oversights including forgetting a laptop charger ‍ as if it wasn't a bother. The room was beautifully presented, and the food service amazing. Will definitely use again. Huge thank you!!!
Room was alright for what we paid. Had everything we needed and was tidy and comfortable. Great location in the center of town with parking a 2minute walk away. Communication with staff to get the room was not the best but we got there in the end. Overall an OK place to stay
Very welcoming team checking in. Rooms are very clean, although dated. Nearby parking at a Wilson's park. Slept well and headed down for breakfast. Continental breakfast OK but quite expensive $23. No issues checking out. All staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
