JUCY Car Rental and Campervan Hire Queenstown Airport

The JUCY rental was awesome for us. Perfect amount of room for two to sleep decently-comfortably. Handles well when driving. Only reason we didnt give it 5 stars was because the van smelled pretty bad the entire time, kind of like it isn't cleaned

Recommend JUCY! It was the best value to price ratio compared to all the other car rental places. The pick up and drop off process was easy. The suzuki swift was a bit old/struggled a bit on some of the very steep hills around the South Island towards Wānaka but otherwise no issues!

I rented just a week before pickup date in April 2024. The rate was very reasonable as compared to any other car rental company. Swift Cars are a bit old 2008-2014 model but they work fine, no issues. Acceleration was good, mileage was good but since it was an old model it didn’t had rearview camera while in reverse however it was not such big a deal. Would have liked much more if Bluetooth connectivity was there.

Vehicle quality and hire fee was fine but customer service very poor. Staff slow to undertake paperwork and to issue vehicle, and the vehicle allocated didn't have the requested ski roof rack, requiring a new vehicle to be found and new paperwork completed. On return, I suggested more instruction to be given about fitting of chains [there is an excellent demo set at reception] and ended up having an argument with receptionist about whether chains were needed on a particular day [the ski field had signs demanding chains be fitted on the access road, with fresh snow falling and the road very icy at top]. Overall: price - good; service - terrible.

I rented a car from Christchurch and returned it in Queenstown. Upon returning the car, I found out about the diesel user road fee. During the trip, I got a ticket from the police and only then did I learn that larger motorhomes need to reduce their speed by 10 km/h. None of this was mentioned when we picked up the car!nnMy family and I were also very upset with the car's very old condition, which delayed our trip by at least four hours. We ended up wasting a lot of money on the rental, and the actual usage time was much shorter than expected.nnIn conclusion, I absolutely do not recommend New Zealand's JUCY.
