This cafe and brunch spot was located a convenient stroll from my apartment and I made full use of it during a 4 day stay in Christchurch. Very handy opening hours, and definitely appealed with its “360 degree” view of the world from its perch on the corner of the street / building. I first stopped in for an espresso one morning and found it very pleasingly made, the accompanying choc n banana muffin a delicious treat. On my next morning I ordered two, along with one of their signature bagels & spread with nutella. A hiccup as the bagel was at first forgotten, however on the cusp of complaining about this I was approached and apologised to, the bagel arriving not long after. My third visit to Johnny Sausage was as part of a late-afternoon meetup with friends, not long before they were due to close. It was an ideal venue for our meeting and everyone enjoyed their drinks, as well as the caramel coffee slice I purchased to divide among us. The service we received was friendly and punctual, and we all felt relaxed in the setting. Have made it a mission to return to Johnny Sausage in 2018 for a proper brunch and experience the full menu the next time we are staying in Christchurch so please keep up the good work there - we are coming for you!
This is a strange place. Connected to the bar and restaurant a few meters away they share beer and wine between the two establishments. Heard alot about how good it was but the pizza was average and had little flavour. There was a good selection of other food in the cabinet and it was certainly busy at lunch hour for local workers. The coffee was popular and the table layout with two large standing tables would have great for sizable groups sharing food. Did get to take away what wsas left of the huge pizza in a doggie bag, which is where it ended up.
In not sure if this place is still called Johnny sausage, however I have been into this so recently and would strongly discourage anyone from visiting. Besides the weird concept they seem to have that means, when you order a small Latte they actually charge you and give you a large. When asking why this is I was told that's because what everyone actually wants. Clearly the young male server new better than me. Anyway, terrible terrible place and won't go back.
Amazing food, sociable staff and a beautiful little cafe. Definitely suggest the BLT bagel, simple but incredible. And the Milkshakes are currently my favorite in the city!
I came for a breakfast on Monday morning Jan 21, 2019. It was my worst experience! IT'S was disappointing! The employeea girl doesn't know how to treat customers! No smile! She was rude and serious! The so called manageranother woman even doesn't how to manage! The worst experience I have ever had in my entire life!
The place for fresh pizza...if there is 2 of you consider buying a whole pizza rather than by the slice. Pork belly is the best
Excellent baguette and brownie with warm atmosphere. Haven't tried the pizzas but they look delicious.
Good as ever. When they are baking a pizza the smell and aroma of coffee and baking is just wonderful.
Pizza and coffee is on point! Lovely location in CBD too :
Great vibe and staff! Bottomless coffee! And really good food!
