Serious Sandwich

Quality of food was okay, however super overpriced. We paid $12 for a small bowl of chips which came with two very small pottles of sauce, one of tomato & the other Aioli unfortunately there is nothing in the photo for scale, but these are the smallest plastic pottles you can get, contain about the same as a ketchup packet!. When we asked for more, we were told we would need to pay for it. At $12 for a small bowl of chips, I'd have expected it to be complimentary. The Aioli also tasted strange. The coffee was nice enough, but again, $6 for a regular flat white & $3 for a small basic fluffy with a single marshmallow seemed steep.

It was ok. Expensive and no where near as good as other sandwich offerings in Christchurch. We had the porchetta which was way too oily… needs some freshness. The Caesar was the best of the two and the egg and bacon were tasty. Service was ok. Not sure we would go again.

There is nothing serious about a sandwich place that takes 35 minutes to warm up some pre made sandwiches. Fast with coffees and chips for other guests and the lady pulled out of the cabinet our sandwiches after 20 minutes of ordering. No line at the shop when we ordered and only a handful of people here. Went back to work after waiting for my food for the whole break. 2 groups were served before us with fresh sandwiches. When I asked girl at the till was annoyed and replied they have lots of orders. Food was super average, so disappointed as this place used to have some amazing quality sandwiches.

Nice crunchy and moist bread with nice sources, ingredients. Tastes pretty good. Would be great to be kinder for customers. Chips are crispy too.

Got the pulled pork sandwich. It was ok but very expensive at $16.50 plus another charge for paywave. I was disappointed at the size of the sandwich. The Hokitika Sandwich company is $21 for twice the size.

The name says it all. When I want an amazing hot sandwich, this is my go to, I'll happily drive across town...

Exceeded my expectations... their service is exceptionally poor and they really go the extra mile to make sure their customers never, ever, ever want to return. Seriously, why offer an entertainment book discount to attract new customers, if you're just going to treat them poorly after they try to redeem the voucher... exceptional! Reply: The time of the transaction was 9.47am this morning. I believe the person who served us was the owner, or at least manager. They flat out refused the entertainment book voucher literally said "no, not today" and only changed their mind when we left our order and walked off.

Great sandwiches with specials in different food not price. Soup of the day always great. Can wait a while when busy. Seating shared so can be an issue when busy. Mall parking. Toilets walking distance. Have a loyalty card.

When I was asked what bread I wanted I didn’t realise I had asked for garlic bread. I ordered the Porchetta salsa verde and received pork sandwiched between two pieces of garlic bread. My sandwich was dripping in garlic and butter to the point I couldn’t taste much of the filling and I’m now trying to get the greasy taste out of my mouth. I also was going to order the side of chips, but was told the wait was 30min so I decided against it. If then I knew my sandwich was also going to take 30min I would have actually got them. As I was leaving, I even checked the menu again to see if the sandwich listed anything about garlic- nope. Unfortunately, definitely wouldn’t go back. It’s a shame because with better service and more care taken in making the sandwiches, they could be really great!
