Handy location by intersection of Wairau and Glenfield Roads, ample parking but can be busy on weekends. Shop interior looks dated and could use a makeover. Lady serving us didn't really seem friendly, and the food was Average and so are the prices . Would probably try elsewhere before coming back.
Excellent service, their chicken wings and chips, and of course fish and chips as well, are the best. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Overcharged my order $10. be careful when you go to pay! Make sure you know how much your order costs beforehand. she likes to do it a lot very sneaky
Ivan’s has gone down hill from years ago. Food not greatFood: 1/5
Tried to place order over the phone couldn’t get an answer. Went to shop and asked why they didn’t answer the phone. I was told “ Too busy no answer phone”. I was not very impressed. Very poor customer service.
Ivans always has a car park or 2 available in the little block of shops it's in, everytime we've visited, which is at the very least once a fortnight, it has 1 entry point and 1 exit. To enter, you have to be coming down Glenfield Road towards the mall or down Wairau Road turning onto Glenfield Road. The exit puts you facing down Glenfield Road going towards the mall. None of the carpark spots are disabled but they don't have to be, as all parks are just on the curb, so not at all far from the shops. Abled and disabled entry very easy, the pavement is pretty flat and no cracks etc. The shop is also handy to a dairy close by for picking up extras. Love Ivans chips a solid 5/5 because, well, I'm slightly OCD and they have a lot of square ended chips, which I will eat, not harsh pointy hard ones, which I won't and aren't pleasant anyway. A pretty standard fish and chips shop menu and has everything you'd expect. The 1 serve of standard chips is way more than enough for two people and only a few dollars. Their fish is always tender and not too greasy, I think the standard fish is Terakihi but I may be wrong. Sometimes they can be heavy handed on the salt, like, super heavy handed and I actually like a lot of salt!! If you, however, don't like overly salted takeaways make sure you let them know when ordering. The service is always pleasant, friendly and you don't ever have to repeat yourself. The young guy that usually works the times when we've gone there, is really nice, friendly and super efficient. We usually phone order in and it's such a local takeaway that they've never asked for my name, but know me or my husband by order, as we've gone to collect 5 minutes - 10minutes later. Great little local, especially over others that try to be more upmarket and are 3x the price for 3x less, but if you just want a decent fish and especially chip meal.. Ivans is great .
Great fish and egg burger! Parking: Good parking spaces
A very good service good quality food and the prices are reasonable, quite frankly I think it's one of the better takeaway joints on the North shore. I will definitely be going back
Ordered a fresh price of snapper $8 when it was ready I looked it the bag and it looked way overdone I said to the lady this is burnt but she refused it was way over cooked Said it was just the outside tasted like a dried piece of rubber No refund no nothing Ivan’s used to be great fish but if my last vist was anything to go off that’s why the shop was empty at lunchtime
Good quality feed of fish n chips, prob the best we've had all year! About a 10 min wait during a moderately busy time.
