Fritz's Wieners

Ordered a smokey bratwurst today and was told it would be a 5 minute wait. That was fine , I noticed no one else waiting which was unusual because its normally quite busy, that was ok too. After 5 minutes or so the counter staff said my order was ready. I collected it and went outside to sit, took one bite into it and it was barely luke warm at best, so spat it out and returned to tell them it wasnt hot enough. The person behind the counter just smirked and said "yeah its just a mild!" I explained that I was talking about 'temperature' not level of spiciness...she offered to make me another but as I was in a hurry I asked for a refund, which she gave me in cash. This experience was really disappointing, and Ive never had this problem before, Im not usually one to return food either, but wasnt keen on getting food poisoning.

Sausage was good but bread was stale, which is a shame. We were there early in the morning so they've obviously used leftoversFood: 4/5

Great pork and venison bratwurst served on a baguette or mashed potatoes. Toppings onions and sauerkraut and sauces aioli, mustard, ketchup are all complimentary.

I love Fritz’ Wieners and have had them both in Nz and AU however I went to the one in Christchurch at the Riverside Market and I always ask for lots of Sauerkraut and it came with about a teaspoon of it. When I asked for more they told me “most people don’t like it so we don’t put much on” I reiterated that I had asked for lots and they said they didn’t have much so put another teaspoon on. They were pretty rude with it.

To whom it may concern, This is Jimmy here. I went to FRITZ'S WIENERS for lunch today and from my understanding of COVID traffic lights system, Christchurch is under orange at the moment, and from what policy said for the restaurants places, there is no any limits for customers including wearing face masks as long as can provide the vaccine pass. However I have been mandatory told by the staff at FRITZ'S WIENERS to wear a mask after I showed her my vaccine pass on my phone otherwise I can’t order any food. I tried to explain her the orange policy for the restaurant but she just said she was unsure about the policy and kept asking me to wear the mask even after she saw my vaccine pass. As a staff in a restaurant environment how become she knew nothing about the most important policy and wondering she was trained properly? I finally left with no food for lunch and I now require a sincerely apologize from FRITZ'S WIENERS after they read the actual policy please. Regards Jimmy

Super yummy, love the spicy brat with hot mustard! A double brat, sliced without the bun and a bit of onion is a real treat I can't help but get again and again when I'm counting calories it want to avoid the bread.

Sausages were OK; but do not get the bangers and mash. The mash is literally frozen Pam’s mashed potato. Same as you’d get from pak n save. It’s also microwaved to death and no attempt to save it with butter, milk or salt. Not sure how they can justify the premium for mash when the bag of mash is like $4 from the grocery store.

So that 'vegan' sausage on the menu is basically cooking in pure bacon fat. Now I appreciate when non-vegetarian restaurants put something vegetarian on the menu, and I understand that some cross contamination may happen inadvertently from time to time. But you have to at least try. You have to put in some effort. You can't call a menu item vegan when there is basically 0% chance the food you're handing to the customer is actually vegan. And it's fine for a restaurant that specializes in a meat product to not have a vegetarian option. But if you're going to do it, do it right. At least try.

15th August 2021 - Lunch today. I was wondering what to eat and decided to try the Wieners and I wasn't disappointed. Ordered a Spicy Bratwurst pork and venison topped with onions, hot English mustard and garlic aioli sauces.. I just wish that they put more onions as it was a little bit . Yummy I thoroughly enjoyed the wiener sausage I love the pork and venison...as I can't eat beef. Overall, it was a good experience from this food stall. There is plenty of seating area. They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments Paywave payments are available, forthose who want to know. Would I go back? Yes . Food: out of 5. It was yummy. Price: out of 5.
