FreshChoice City Market

Considering this is an urban grocery store in a downtown shopping center, I was quite pleased with the selection. I had no problem finding sandwiches and chips and all sorts of snacks to bring back to the hotel room and would be my driving snacks. The store is nicely laid out with lots of options.nnSelf-checkout worked well and I had no problem using my American credit card to pay for my stuff.

Unexpectedly can get many asian stuff here. It cant be found in any other supermarket. Besides, I was surprised they sell duck fats and other stuff. Lots of wine selections, breads, and fresh vegetables. Only problem is that prices are slightly higher than other supermarket, but considered they are at the city center, is reasonable.

Eye wateringly expensive.nFreshChoice in regional parts of NZ manage to give the big supermarkets a run for their money but no attempt to do this in Merivale.nCaptive audience I suppose - but I bet they miss out on a lot of custom from sensible shoppers.

This review is for the Lil Ruby coffee bar in this supermarket. The coffee isn't bad and at times in the morning they have a $3 / 8Oz coffee which is good value. The staff are friendly and try to meet customers' requirements. They have a few small tables for two people. Happy to try them again. Thank you.

Fantastic wee supermarket! The variety in product selection blew me away. The in-store bakery bread and other treats are delicious and the meat selection is outstanding.
