New Zealand's Premier provider of Electrical Apprenticeships and Training

Story

ETCO is a wholly owned subsidiary of ECANZ (Electrical Contractors Association of New Zealand) established to provide employment and training for the electrical industry in New Zealand. Our two main areas of activity are:

* the employment and placement of electrical apprentices via our group apprenticeship scheme, and
* the provision of training courses for apprentices and tradespeople

Since our beginnings in 1991, our commitment to producing the best has helped thousands of ETCO apprentices and students achieve outstanding results and successes in industry competitions, national examinations and the industry itself.

Excellent training, Allan was a pleasure to listen to. Good information and excellent knowledge of the work covered in the course. First aid course was presented in a good manner . Thanks Red Rhino Electrical.
Bitten off more than they can chew. Current Etco Mentors on the ground saying there's a back log of 1000s of books... left over unmarked and checked from previous training provider Skills NZ, leaving Etco struggling to keep up and adding more pressure to existing staff already undervalued and disillusioned. Block courses have been cut down 1st and 2nd year so far.... from two weeks to one, cramming huge amounts of learning into 5 days with too many students...again another streamline for profits. When will Etco put their hands up and be honest I wonder with how they are struggling. For future apprentices... be wary of this company, seek alternatives and save yourself from a bad experience.
This is not great place to go for training. Although those office staff are very helpful, there are some wiseacre interviewers very interesting in your private information. Do not go there for training or interview. Totally waste your time.
An incredible learning experience with all the necessary equipment and resources to allow the awesome staff of tutors, to teach students in becoming great electrical engineers.
Over-working their employees to then charge them Multiple days of wages for falling behind in studies is horrendous, I'm glad I got out before they became so money hungry
Unorganised and unprofessional. Cant even keep track of exams and completed on jobs. Definitely don’t care about their students
Did my block course here but strongly rubbish and awful memory. The tutor was rude and unkind. Avoid if you can
I have an electrical apprentice recently off work recovering from an operation . He asked to get more off his off job assignments released so he could do more paperwork while at home recovering. He was told no , so he asked me his employer to see if I could have them released. I thought that was a very reasonable request so I rang Raymond from etco who tried to release one for me .However he was unable to , so he asked his it man to try . Andrew the it man refused , saying if I do it for one I do it for all of them . COME ON ETCO SORT YOURSELVES OUT . That attitude does nothing for me . Thanks for nothing Signed Very Unhappy
Be careful! This place is all about roping people into contracts they don’t understand. Would not recommend
