"Dux Dine is situated in a historic turn-of-the-century Villa that was originally the Station Master’s House for the Riccarton Railway.The villa has been extensively but sympathetically reworked to provide a variety of spaces to be enjoyed whether you are a couple out for date night, a large group celebration at one of the huge Kauri tables, grabbing a morning coffee, enjoying a drink in the bar, meeting friends for lunch in the sun drenched conservatory or enjoying a platter in the sheltered courtyard garden.The original homeliness of the villa has been maintained making Dux Dine welcoming and very comfortable but with many fun and quirky elements to be discovered and revealed over subsequent visits."

Dux Dine is true Lux Dinning hidden in beautiful, old garden villa of Riccarton. Very unique combination of exquisite seafood and vegetarian food in nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is delicious, portions just right. Being vegans, we have been regularly coming there for the past few years,as there is always something for us to chose from and it only gets better. Popcorn cauliflower is one of the best in town, but crispy tofu salad is also delicious. I miss vegan curry hope it’s coming back soon. Vegan parafit was light and tasty not sweet at all, worth trying to close the evening. Overall it would have been perfect experience, except the service. I don’t know what is so hard to find motivated and customer friendly servers nowadays and it shouldn’t be a big ask. Server was rude and not in mood to be there at all. Luckily at later part of evening she was replaced by someone else and it was a game changer. We will be back !
Being vegetarian ourselves, we have been to Dux Dine many times, usually for dinners. Thanks to GrabOne coupons for “lunch platter for 2”, we decided to try these out. My wife and I shared the vegetarian lunch platter while another couple shared the seafood platter. The food was delicious and sumptuous, with plenty of variety within the platters. The service by Sierra and others was pleasant and courteous. In summary, it was a delightful lunch experience!
Our mains were lovely albeit it being pricey but the coffee was far from decent. I ordered a flat white with soy milk my usual but it came with the milk curdled so I politely asked for another. They came back to me with what you see in the picture. It was very obvious that it was not freshly made and that they just removed the milk chunks from the coffee. A flat white is also supposed to have a good froth, never mind latte art. Upon settling the bill, the waitress sarcastically told me to prevent that from happening I should order oat or almond milk instead. Maybe consider delisting it from the menu then. Also, after observing the coffee bar for a good amount of time, milk is not kept properly in the fridge after coffee is made. Winter is not an excuse, it was warm indoors! I am a barista too btw with a food and hygiene certificate
The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly impressive for an all vegetarian and vegan menu. The cocktails are also to die for. Will definitely be coming backFood: 5/5
Beautiful dishes. Fish cooked perfectly, summer risotto was my fav! Three of us felt desserts can be improve presentation.
Very busy but staff made it not stressful. Great live music. Fish cooked to perfection. Might pay to book when this busy. Average wait for meal 30 minutes told 45
My family has eaten here a couple of times. We feel like the food is a bit of mixed quality; some things we like a lot and some we don’t. Most importantly for us, our preschool-age son gets excited about pizza, but doesn’t eat much because it doesn’t taste very good and I agree. However, he LOVES the toy box, which makes getting through dinner much easier.
Dined in with friends for bottomless brunch. Service was good for the first 30 mins then slipped terribly. Had to ask 4 times for bubbly wine to be refilled. Food was good but portion sizes were small for $69 price. Waiter never came to check our drinks, service appalling. Had to ask for more water as well. Very disappointed. Won't be back. An expensive bottomless brunch.
Really enjoyed our meals. Beautifully fresh and packed with nutrition and flavour. Good drinks selection and a varied and interesting menu. Back tomorrow night to try something different! Vegetarian options: Great flavoursome options.
There's so much to love about Dux Dine. Consistently great meals have had pasta, pizzas, tapas, and all sorts, gorgeous outdoor dining space, beautiful indoor dining areas, and it's friendly for kids to take the stress out of a nice meal out with picky children. Dining staff are so lovely and helpful. We have left full and happy every time we've eaten at Dux Dine.
