Welcome is probably the best culinary surprise in Riccarton. Entirely vegan ! Best asian fusion choice in city. Don’t be put off by average looking outside or even more rusty and seasoned indoors. The food is worth it ! Food is yummy, fresh and delicious and affordable prices. There are so many options to choose from that it will take you months to try everything they. We have been going there regularly for the past few years and it’s our favourite Friday take away spot. Everything is worth a try depending on your taste. Our choice is hot plate eggplant with tofu and tofu mashed balls with veggies - never disappointed. It’s a family run business, owner is very friendly and accommodating. Place is very popular on weekends especially among students due to nearby university campus.
This place is definitely a must go for any vegetarian/vegan in Christchurch. The plates are big, amazing quality and flavors, and the service is fast and great! I recommend going with friends and order different plates because their menu is HUGE so there’s heaps of options to try. I am absolutely in love with the coconut rice, I swear I could easily eat a huge bowl on my own. I will definitely return! Also, lots of Gluten free options which is great for those with sensitive stomatch :
Amazing use of soy to make the mock fish and chicken style dishes. The fried rice was great, and the steaming cast iron dish is a must for the table. The menu is huge . I didn't really like the soups , just not to my taste, probably bit too authentic for me.Food: 5/5
Been coming here for nearly 10 years. Great service in a quaint setting. All of the meals are so flavorsome - the hotplates and soups are mouthwatering. My favourite order is the red bean buns, spring rolls, cheeky nuggets, and tom yum ramen. Always fantastic. Will forever be my favourite restaurant! Vegetarian options: literally a hundred or more options for vegetarians. Dietary restrictions: Great for DF, GF, Vegan, Vegetarian
We go here at least once a month. The menu is huge so there’s always something new to try. The service is friendly and quick. There’s mo MSG added to foods. Not something I personally look out for, but I know many people would love that extra. Most of the dishes can also be ordered wheat free, which is a great option for people with sensitivities. Unlike other reviewers, I do not find their dishes overpriced. Paying $60 for two starters, three mains and drinks is great value to me - half the food we took home! Absolutely recommend going here. Tip: drinks come with straws, so ask for no straw if that’s something you try to avoid!
Some of the best vegan kai in all of Aotearoa. Lots of gluten-free options as well. Lovely, friendly staff. Would always recommend.
Amazing fully vegan options! Took my family there who are pretty much carnivores and they loved it! A great place for everyone who is craving some Chinese food. Yum food and decent prices
Amazing vegan food!!! Cheap, delicious, amazing service. Our favourite restaurant of all time. Have been going as often as possible for 6 years
1/12/2017 & 8/12/2017 - The food is good and tasty, however I still get overcharged without a proper explanation . Not a lot, but it does add up in the long run. 03/11/2017 - Tonight's dinner and drinks - Lychee drink, Icy Chocolate with Ice Cream, Tom Yum mushroom soup, Stir Fry Flat Rice Noodle and Soysage Veggy Rice. Fantastic vegetarian food. Extensive selections approximately 140 dishes and delicious vegetarian vegan menu see online for menu. They serve quality vegetarian food and is well priced from $9 to $18 per main while the drinks and desserts only cost between $1.50 to $5.50. I came here with my daughter to try something different. Rather than having meats tonight, we have decided to try vegetarian cuisine. I found this place via Google Map and decided to give it a try. When we arrived, there were only three occupied tables. We sat down and looked at the menu. We were a slightly overwhelmed when we first saw the menu as this is the first time we came here and not sure what to expect. We took awhile to decide what we want to eat after extensively going through the menu! We decided to order: 9 steam dumplings, single [serving] tom yum mushroom soup, regular size stir fry flat rice noodle and regular size soysage veggy rice see the photos, except the dumplings as we ate it too quickly. By the way, the main dishes come in two sizes; regular or large portion. The tom yum mushroom soup entrée was very tasty, and the dumplings are flavoursome and we enjoyed it very much. The sliced vegan sausages do taste like real meat sausages. The stir fry flat noodle is slightly bland with my daughter needing to add some tomato sauce to improve the flavour. The place is slightly dated but cosy atmosphere. Comfy seating. Friendly staff. My daughter is a very slow eater and took her awhile to finish, and we never feel rushed to finish our meals. After we finish our dinner, it was time for the bill. It all came to $43.30. After I paid and gone, I rechecked the amount at home based on the online menu, and found that I was slightly overcharged by $3.70. Not going to break the bank any time soon but would be good if the owner can double check with me and/ or calculate the invoice twice. Would I go back? Yes. Would I recommend this? Yes, the food is definitely a hit but do check the bill before paying.
It's very rare to find a Chinese vegetarian place here in nz. This place serves a good variety of vegetarian and vegan food and the tatse is great. The owner seems nice as well. I've tried the claypot noodles which have really tender mock fish on it.
