A really really nice aviary. Love the sprinklers for the birds. Gorgeous birds. Can be a little bit hard to see through the chains, some of them are quite thick and small. Really beautiful enclosures with nice plants and scenery for the birds. A cool walk to get to the aviary - surrounded by really lovely scenery. Very clean area also. I recommend taking a walk over here while you look around the rest of the Botanic Garden! :
Peaceful and amazing! Almost all of the trees and plants are identified. The park map is also quite helpful. The aviary is not to be missed.
Beautiful birds, they only thing is that the cage wire was so think it was hard to get a good look at times. Peaceful place enjoy.
Its amazing to see these colorful creatures anywhere, even in dunedin botanic garden. It makes the place vivid.nnThe cages are kinda robust so not ideal to take photos but the birds are curious and you could see them most of the times. And boy sometimes they are loud!nnWould be great if the cages were even bigger so they have room to fly more. Nevertheless, its nice to see them. Some of them are talking parrots as well, especially Sid. Say “hello” to him and he might repeat.
Great free attraction for families and bird lovers. Enclosures feel a little bit small for the Kea and other bigger parrots but all the birds seem happy enough.
