We had a fantastic night watching Top Gun at Berkeley Mission Bay. Being winter it was super cold outside and nice and warm when we got inside, the lady who served us was super friendly and the popcorn was hot and fresh. This is a fantastic, perfectly sized, cinema on the front of Mission bay. There are 4 screens that hold about 40 to 50 people each. The seats are big and comfortable with plenty of leg room. Booster seats are available for small kids, check the front underneath the screen. This is a child friendly complex. There is a well stocked sweet, drinks, and popcorn selection at the front desk, along with an adult selection of beers & wines. This really is a great cinema, which is well priced for NZ. Top tip here, join Hoyts rewards and get discounts off selected films and times. Get in early and you're pretty much guaranteed a cinema almost to yourself.

got the bottom of the popcorn , had to ask for fresh ones , they just returned popcorn back in the popcorn machine and served it to the next person ? got fresh popcorn which was as bad as the first batch , very disappointing. speakers were so loud it was hard to hear the movie, will not be coming back

Half the time if you come before 5pm you get a theatre to yourself it’s so awesome.

Really nice movie venue, sea views, lots of comfy seating, snacks, ice creams, wine, beer and more. Handy restaurants and bars downstairs too.

We watched Killers of the Flower Moon at Berkeley Cinemas - great movie, pity about the cinema experience itself. Freezing cold in cinema 3 but we asked them to turn up the temperature, they shook their head and Sid they couldn’t fix it. Dialogue speakers were way too quiet so you barely hear quiet conversation and the door didn’t close properly so lots of noise from nearby cinema room when it was playing ads. Recommend the movie but watch it elsewhere

Great little place, suitable for children and enough parking at back. Standard ticket is not as good as event or readings but you get what you pay for.

Great film comfortable seats good audio & picture

Went to visit with Elvis today. Sad to see only one person on duty. Coffee was less than average. Theatre very cold. Movie was great. No soap or toilet paper in the loo. Standards have slipped since last visit. No disrespect to person on duty. Can’t be expected to do everything.
