A great place for authentic Fiji Indian food and sweets! My cousin told me about this place recently and we had dinner here at the end of our road trip. I also ordered lamb curry and roti to take away and a whole bunch of sweets and savoury snacks. They're quite busy so get your order in quick people. Looking forward to my next visit for sure :o
Fresh Jalebi from here is the best For all your sweets and snacks this is one of the best places in Papatoetoe. Fiji style Ice Block
We visited here yesterday and were served by a friendly young man, the snacks and sweets were good however we were disappointed with the mains we ordered - chicken fried rice and the chowmein. It was basically tasteless and not spicy, what’s the point of asking spice level if your not gonna honour it. we can make ourselves better then what we were given for much less cost.
Perfect store I never experienced any issues here infact I am always greeted by the usual lady here and she specks nicely and confirms my order if I want anything else same with the other young gentleman. I love their indian sweets and snacks most time they do have stock and my personal favorite are the Bara nice and crisp they do answer their phones and close late in evening too an easy 5 out of 5 stars from me to Babu Sweets :-
Disgusting sweets not tasty seems like using cheap ingredients to make sweets lack of flavor also fried snacks so oily i had to use tissue to squeeze out oil before eating !!! Tastless .Better stick to my favorite place auckland indian sweets
Great snacks at a bargain price of 3 pieces for only $2. How can they survive? Stuffed chilis pakoras samosas Dahl vada and lots of sweets
Worst customer services ever from this shop. The lady on the phone sweared at us for getting the orders wrong themselves. We used to love their food and recommend to everyone but their attitude is so bad. People as such spoil reputation of Fiji Indians here in NZ. Its a shame to be honest to associate with such Fiji Indians. Even people in Fiji who are not that educated have better customer services skills. Maybe she needs to be sent for additional training or anger management courses. NZ has got good coaching schools for hospitality industry and she should attend one.
Customer service is pathetic! The owners daughter with the short hair at the counter has such a terrible attitude, seems lazy and frustrated with every customer. Literally we all have bad/tiring days but still have to put on the best customer service .Seriously needs a attitude fix and definitely needs to be taught customer service skills. Wouldn’t be surprised if they lose a few more customers due to this issue. Also the food seems to be overpriced and doesn’t make sense , if you order a large which you pay more money for , the rice isn’t included A bit of a rip off. Ridiculous Never going back again.
Great fijian/ chinese cuisine. Absolutely tasty food, been here for the first time while visiting Auckland as my favourite place in Papatoetoe was closed, I was totally impressed. They also have a wide variety of sweets available. All sweets taste great and fresh. Would happily go back here again while visiting Auckland. Central Papatoetoe location on great south road and free parking can be found around the block or underground by hunters plaza.
Based on past reviews,l totally agree the girl at the counter think owners daughter has no manners n never feels the importance of customers. No wonder lot of business has been lost through a person itself, she has forgotten there are many more better restaurants near by n actually dont even think your food is the best. Its overpriced, lacks quality n quantity both.Your service or first impression is such any customer will just walk away.Have a smile on your face girl or greet your customers at least n dont give that blunt look to customers waiting for them to speak first .Wake up now or it's not far away a day you will hardly have any customer.Learn from restaurants like Hunters curry house n others around you at least. They all specialize in fiji style food but at the same time the smile n friendly service is maintained by them. Finally note no customers will tolerate such behaviour in a hospitality industry and though u may think it's your own business, think ahead will it ever expand the way things are and your loads of negative feedback on different sites.
