We went with our family and absolutely loved the experience! The food was so yummy and gave such nice Diwali vibes — warm, festive, and welcoming.nnBusy for Thursday nights.nnThe restaurant serves authentic Punjabi food that’s truly value for money. Each dish we ordered was delicious, but the Amritsari Paneer Kulcha was our absolute favourite — a must-try! The Amristari Aloo Tikki was good, and the Dahi Papdi Bhalla was perfectly balanced and flavorful.nnMy partner really enjoyed the Cardamom and Ginger Tea, which was a comforting end to the meal.nnOverall, amazing food, great ambience, and lovely festive touch. We’ll definitely come back again!
I recently visited Ambarsariya that's well-known for its paratha, chaat & lassi —and it definitely lived up to the hype! I tried a couple of different dishes sharing photos in the review, and the food quality was genuinely impressive. Everything I tasted was delicious, fulfilling, and clearly made with care.nnThe prices are a bit on the higher side, but the portion sizes and taste make up for it. The toilet is located within the hotel area, which might not be super convenient for everyone, but it's manageable.nnOne big plus—there’s heaps of parking available right outside, which makes the visit hassle-free.nnIf you're craving rich, authentic Punjabi flavors - especially their signature paratha, amritsari aloo tikki chat —this place is worth checking out.
“Hidden Gem “.nBest indian restaurant out of all i have visited. Pure Vegetarian.nAmazing food Super cheap. Value for money. Must try Aloo tikki chat,Noodles Paratha and chole kulche.nnMust Visit.nnWasnt busy at all when i visited. But can get busy sometimes with a table waiting of 10-15 minutes.
If you're craving authentic North Indian flavours right here in the neighbourhood, Ambarsariya Café and Restaurant is the place to be. I’ve visited a few times now, and every visit leaves me wanting to come back again.nnThe absolute highlight for me is their crunchy, crispy kulcha—it’s nothing short of outstanding. The outer layer is golden and crisp, but once you bite in, the soft, flavourful filling hits just right. It's a nostalgic burst of Punjab in every bite!nnThis time, I tried their patty kulcha, and wow—next level delicious. It's creamy, crunchy, spicy, with perfectly balanced masalas layered inside. You don’t just taste it—you feel it. The flavours stay with you, like a warm memory from home.nnThey also serve hot, crunchy samosas—served fresh, with just the right amount of kick. Paired with their chutneys, it’s hard to stop at one.nnAnd don’t miss their hot chocolate—surprisingly smooth and rich, it’s a perfect sweet ending to the meal, especially on a cold Papatoetoe day.nnYes, the food takes a little time to arrive, but that’s only because they make everything fresh to order. And honestly? It’s so worth the wait. When the food hits the table, hot and fragrant, you’ll know you made the right choice.nnEvery dish brings you closer to the streets of Hindustan—you’ll be reminded of roadside dhabas, home kitchens, and late-night snacks from back in the day.nnThe vibe is simple and casual, and the team always greets you with a smile. The owners clearly take pride in delivering authentic taste with heart.nnWhether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or sitting down for a full meal, you’ll leave with a happy belly and warm memories.nnHighly recommend it to anyone in South Auckland looking for a true Punjabi food experience.nnTry it once—you’ll be back for sure!
We really enjoyed our lunch here- had amritsari kulcha paneer and aloo with chana masala, fried corn and cheese moms, ginger tea and chana tiki. Everything tasted delicious. Food was really good. Plenty of parking, giving just 3 stars for service is because for the first 7 mins since we entered not a single waitress/host greeted us. I was just standing awkwardly and then I started thinking I had Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak! But all good since they were busy. Otherwise food was good. Loved the cutesy tea pot- plan to buy one just like that! Ambience is good- cutesy! Loved the chai!
