A nice long train station with plenty of entrances, however, there are only limited shelters available; hence, you better get your umbrella ready and set during the rainy seasons. The tag on/off stations are located right on each entrances, and if you need to drop off or pick-up, better use Layard St albeit it's a one-way street. Very close to town centre, and the medical centre is just across the station. The station have an automated ticket and top up machine. You can also find a vending machine that has been out of order for more than a year.
If you're catching the morning commute at peak hour, be prepared to stand! Especially if AT pulls a three-carriage train on you: you better rush to that door like the Cornucopia in the Hunger Games
Awesome train station in west auckland. But it doesn't have any public toilets.
Although my last visit here was in 2009, and now live in Australia. This train station was so cool as it had so many cats around here.
Hi Auckland Transport, i dont know where im gonna put the review,nI really dissapointed what i’ve been through today with train at avondale today, at 10.45nI didnt come late, i was waiting for the train coming, and the. When the train coming, I’m about to approach the door , they close straight away, rude driver, it’s can be dangerous for people if i tried to jump in the train when about to close, i really dissapointed because i came early waiting for my train, how come that the train the one who came late close the door straight away when i about to approach the door, they just open and close like that. So rude, how come no people working as well at the time at the train, i even press the green button so many times, while the train still waiting.ni know we need the transportation but it’s not supposed to be treat like that, except that i came late to the train. but close straight away when i’m about to approach the door, it might be not wven 30s, even the old people also need to run because of that, what happened if they fell because of that, it’s not safety. I never reported something like this before. How comeeeeee?
