For people who just come to NZ, NOT recommend you to open account with ASB, so much hassles to deal with! Freezing my Mum's account with no contact and notifications, take so many hours to contact them over the phone, not solving the problem, tell Mum still need go to branch to solve it, all of these are because they need her to send back a letter about her tax details, which is a letter she never received. Will definitely help mum transfer to other bank!

I opened an account online and had to take ID and proof of address into the branch, standard procedure. After reading some of these reviews I can't say I was looking forward to visiting WestcCty branch.nWhat a shock, no waiting i had made an appointment, no grumpy rude staff that I witnessed. It was 9:30am and wasnt at all busy.I was greeted and served by Ivanna and she was great. Friendly and professional. She explained everything she was doing and why. Confidently answered a couple of questions I had. I left confident I had made the right choice with ASB
