Really disappointed with the service my mum and our family have received from ANZ Sylvia Park. In December 2025, an unauthorised withdrawal was made from a joint account between my mum who lives in the South Island and another woman in Auckland person who withdrew the money. Both signatures are meant to be required for any withdrawals from that account whatsoever, but somehow one went through without authorisation or any notice to my mum. We only found out when mum went into the bank in January of 2026.nnANZ has admitted it was their mistake, which we appreciate, but the way the Sylvia Park branch handled things has been pretty awful. The person supposedly managing this case, Ana Faiva, has been unhelpful and unprofessional in her communication with mum and us. She even asked us for the other woman’s personal contact details over the phone, saying she thought it was fine because we are family. That is not appropriate or professional at all, especially coming from a supposed branch manager.nnAna also admitted that the issue was ANZ’s fault, yet somehow we have been told as first thing, to chase up the other account holder ourselves to get our money back. That is ridiculous. If ANZ made the error, ANZ should be fixing it.nnOverall, we have been left really frustrated and disappointed, both with the teller who processed the unauthorised withdrawal and with how the Sylvia Park branch has handled the situation. ANZ really needs to take responsibility and do better with communication and customer service.
I went to open up and create an account and the indian lady worker asked me why i wanted to open up an account , i told her it was to open up an bank acc so i can have one as i dont have one here as ive just returned from australia . she kept repeating herself and asking why the purpose i wanted to open an account even though i told her it was so i can have a bank acc here , then she wouldnt accept my nz license which is still valid . and my address is on there , she wouldnt accept that as proof of address . She seemed very incompetent , and also giving me a fake smile while denying all my request . it was still morning and there was hardly anyone in the branch …i dont recommend this branch or anz in general . go somewhere better . . i had multiple ID’s on me and she wouldnt accept it . useless …
On Sundays, they actually close at 4pm I learned, Google says 4:30pm. I went in just before 4 and they were ready to close. I was about to go home but Priyanka was very lovely and helped out! Thank you for your help
ANZ Sylvia Park is conveniently located inside a mall and near transportation.nnI was assisted by Ms. Shamrul and she was lovely in helping me open my account. She assisted me every step of the process and helped immensely in making the process as smooth and as hassle-free as possible.nnI commend her for her efforts and genuine care in customer service.
I am writing to express my disappointment with the level of customer service I have consistently experienced at this ANZ branch. On several occasions, I have encountered tellers who were noticeably impolite and displayed passive-aggressive behavior. This has made my visits to the branch unpleasant and frustrating.nAdditionally, there have been ongoing issues with the ATM change machine, such as its inability to accept $20 or $50 notes regardless of how they are inserted. At times, the machine has also been out of smaller denominations like $10s and $5s, requiring customers to queue up inside the branch for assistance.nnWhen seeking help for these issues, I have unfortunately been met with unhelpful attitudes and condescending responses from the tellers. During my most recent visit on August 7th at approximately 4:20 PM, I was particularly disappointed by the demeanor of the teller who assisted me. The interaction left me feeling disrespected and I felt as though I was not taken seriously.nnWhile I understand that everyone can have difficult days, I believe it is essential—especially in customer-facing roles—to maintain a professional and respectful attitude. All customers deserve to be treated with courtesy and understanding regardless of what they look like.nA positive and respectful attitude from staff goes a long way in ensuring customers feel valued and supported.
