Story

Antarctica New Zealand is the Crown Entity responsible for developing, managing and executing New Zealand Government activities in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean, in particular the Ross Dependency. Antarctica New Zealand manages Scott Base, New Zealand’s Antarctic research station. It maintains New Zealand’s operational presence in the Ross Dependency for the benefit of present and future generations of New Zealanders. Key activities include supporting scientific research, conserving the intrinsic values of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean and raising public awareness (in part through arts, media and youth programmes) of the international significance of the continent.

So much to see here. Well worth the entry fee. The storm room was awesome. The 4D movie was fun and interesting. Some fascinating exhibits and the huskies are fantastic. The Hagglund field was brief but fun. The food in the cafeteria was very nice and reasonably priced.
A fantastic place to explore. Lots of interactive activities to get involved in. The Hägglund ride and penguins were a highlight.
Very good, well worth the visit and so much more than our previous visit some years ago. Definitely to be visited but do allow some time to do it justice. Pity we didn't allow more time.
It had some great stuff but so many people all jostling and fighting their way to the front you could hardly see anything. Cafe only has chips and wedges not really much for lunch.

Scott Base staff are always helpful and pleasure to work. Woody and his team at Chch are absolutely brilliant and work so hard to get us to the ice and back
