This Sunday morning, we savored a delicious breakfast at this location, although the wind occasionally blew outside.nnUpon entering, I observed the cafe's elegantly adorned interior, where patrons maintained a courteous distance while enjoying their food.nnOne should appreciate that the washrooms provided are tidy and comply with the standards.nnWe intend to enjoy another meal here.
We went to Annabelle’s in St. Heliers recently and while the setting is stunning — right near the water with a lovely ambience — the food was shockingly bad.nnWe started with five pieces of wontons, which came out within five minutes. That should’ve been the first red flag. They were half-burnt, greasy, and completely bland. No salt, no pepper, no seasoning of any kind. It tasted like someone just dumped them in oil and sent them out.nnMy partner ordered the pork belly, and although it was cooked well in terms of texture, it was also completely flavourless. Just plain, soft meat with nothing to bring it to life.nnI asked for the pork belly bao to be swapped with fried chicken bao — the server was very kind and said yes, which I appreciated — but what came out was a boiled piece of white chicken that had been lightly dunked in oil and shoved into a bun. It wasn’t fried, it wasn’t seasoned, it looked awful and tasted even worse. I have a photo to prove I’m not exaggerating.nnWe paid $90 for this, and not once did the owner or anyone ask how the food was. They didn’t care.nnThe only redeeming things were the location, the nice vibe, and the friendly man who served us. But that doesn’t make up for how bad the food was.nnIf you’re going for drinks or just the view, sure. But if you’re hungry and expecting good food, do yourself a favour — don’t go.
My family went there a month ago for dinner. We ordered a duck spring roll, bimbimpab, duck leg risotto and grilled fish. The food there is not very fancy but fulfilling taste. I love the brownie dessert and crumble. Service was very nice, will be back!
Fabulous family lunch, brilliant menu with a lot of options of dietary requirements. We had entrees, mains and desserts. The snapper special was a great light lunch option. The open air front was lovely enjoy the sun and seaviews. Our service was personal, efficient and discreet. Throughly enjoyed our afternoon lunch.
One of the best restaurants on Tamaki Drive. Excellent food and wine, with helpful caring staff. Always a pleasure to brunch, lunch or dinner there. No garlic in most dishes.
