First and most definitely not last visit yesterday with a couple of mates, and wish we stayed longer so I could look at all the awesome pictures and items they have around the shop, so special and funky! BEST pie I've had probably ever steak & mushroom, had a lovely wee yarn with Michelle too and bought some sick earrings. Thank you guys, hope the summer is great for yous, looking forward to coming back :

My family and I went to the Huia cafe and we were pleasantly surprised with the amazing food and reasonable prices! I absolutely recommend going to this cafe, especially considering the great views. Extra thanks to Chef Levi who made the best burgers my family and I have ever had!
What a little gem in Huia. We stopped in after walking up to the dam and had a lovely time sitting in the courtyard under the shade of the umbrellas. Must say the coffee was very good, as was the christmas cake. Super friendly staff!
Flat white was good, but overall food was boring. For such a lovely place with its own history it's shame. Simple food can be done with love but here it's just a simple food....
Very satisfying snack stop after a walk up the Lower Huia Dam. Lovely service!
That must've been the absolutely best coffee I ever had in New Zealand! BBQ burger was also exceptional. The wait time was a bit long, but we were warned in advance and it was really worth the wait!

Preferred this place when it was an old-school local store. Is dark and cluttered and limited table space. Always busy but the server seemed stressed and grumpy, even though it wasn't particularly hectic. Hope their day improved for them Parking: Always busy and limited parking
