Super friendly service is found in this bar just next to Castle Gravensteen. On top a fine variety of tap beer, you'll also find a good selection of Gin Tonics. This includes four Belgian brands, a Japanese and a couple of classics. Great stop if you are near to Gravensteen and a much better place to relax than the busy and touristy square a few meters away.

Typical pub with a good service. They have a beer of the month special that is 5€ and a nice way to taste different beers. As a pub, not a place to eat... just drink.

The place has very good variety of beers and good prices. The candle at the tables make the atmosphere unique.

Very nice place in front of the castle of Gent. The bar is very cosy to have a drink and eat something around a candle. The waiters are also very sympathetic. The ambiance is also very nice.

Popped to Ghent on the way back from Bruges to Brussels, and stumbled across The Alchemist. What a delight! If you like a small local bar with a great vibe, this is for you. Super selection of local beers at a range of styles I had something dark and strong, not a clue what but it was lovely, lots of spirits and cocktails on offer too. Came in for one, stayed for 3 but will stay longer next time!

Small and very busy pub with a great atmosphere and a marvelous view to the castle opposite. There is a great variety of tasty beers and other liquids wine, gins, ....

Fun bar! You can sit outside and have an amazing view of the castle. They have a great selection of drinks and have quite a few snacks. Highly recommend if you're stopping in Ghent!
