Several years ago I took a bike to 99 Bikes for repair and was incredibly disappointed by the incompetence of the mechanic. I swore I would never go there again until the other mechanic I had to use didn't have a part so I took a punt and gave them another shot. Thank God I did. Since then I have sent three electric bikes that I own to them and my flat bar Roadie, all of which came back exactly the way I was hoping plus more. The three mechanics they have there at the moment capable, competent, friendly and I am stoked I've found a good bike mechanic. For those who own electric bikes, finding a mechanic to work on them he's hard let alone finding a good one. In essence and in conclusion if you need a mechanic for your bike look no further.

Recently purchased a bike from 99 Port Melb. Whilst they went to a lot of trouble measuring me up, I felt the bike was too tall for me. I rang the next day, not a problem they took the bike back and put me on a smaller frame. They were very obliging, they had to order the bike in, they had me on it within 2 days. I am very impressed with the service!!

Incompetent mechanical work left my bike un-disable. 99 Bikes would not refund the service or provide adequate compensation for my out-of pocket expenses. Stranded in the Victorian High Country, on what was intended to be a lovely rail trail riding experience, with a wheel that wasn’t trued correctly and was rubbing on the frame and brakes. The rear wheel was not sitting in the frame correctly and the top derailleur was 6mm out of alignment, I couldn’t change gears as a result. The headstem bearings were also loose. I had to spend money having emergency repairs completed and then the Manager at 99 Bikes refused to refund or provide adequate compensation. Please do not use this company for a bike service, it’s not worth your time and money.

I think the guys do a great job. I've made a couple of purchases here and they have been very helpful. Until now. I have a warranty issue with my Garmin Fenix 5 band. This is wearing out very quickly. They made me come to the store only to be told it is a warranty issue but I will have to leave it with them for 2 weeks before they can replace it!! The watch is not unwearable, and they acknowledge it is a warranty issue but they cant order a new band and allow me to keep wearing it until it comes in? Why? They went from helpful to flogs in that instant!!!!

Needed a chain ring bolt to replace a rounded out one. Quick chat with the guy in the workshop and he'd dug one out of his tool box for me, no charge. Friendly and helpful, cheers guys.
