Story

Zinc Restaurant Port Douglas is a unique combination of restaurant, café and lounge bar....café by day, restaurant and lounge bar at night.

Zinc is located in the Portico building on the corner of Macrossan and Davidson Streets, the main corner of Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland, Australia.

Zinc is at the Four Mile Beach end of the main street and right by a large number of the holiday accommodation apartments in the village of Port Douglas.

Wonderful atmosphere and friendly, helpful service. We chose the Seafood Tasting Menu, with mine paired with the standard matched wines per course. The ingredients were wonderful and fresh and paired perfectly with the seafood, with some nice textures to compliment the dish. My pick was the white fish ceviche which was incredible, partner preferred the salmon sashimi which was also some of the best I've had. Only let down was the black tiger prawn and main of Barramundi in a coconut curry which were slightly on the salty side. Would definitely recommend and return.
We had some pretty outstanding food in Port Douglas, but Zinc was my favorite restaurant. We ate and drank until we were full. You can order ANYTHING off this menu and expect to be stratified and full. We ordered the lamb off the menu and the clam Thai soup, which happened to be the special that evening. Both delicious and left us wanting more. Zinc had the only ceviche I had seen on a menu in the area, amazing!!!! Ordered the banana colada too. All was tasty and cooked to perfection!

We had a dinner for two last night. We decided to have the seafood degustation. 5 courses with a wine for each. Very very nice food. It's a bit expensive so be prepared for that, but a great way to finish our last night. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Great place for lunch or dinner. Jazz band playing for fathers day was a bit special! Food is excellent and the cocktails are very reasonable. Lovely staff that are attentive, all wrapped up in a lovely location in a gorgeous town, what is there to dislike? For a special meal, this is a great place.
