What a beautiful spot. Camping here was amazing. Great beach, plenty of room for the kids to play, spectacular views and gorgeous wildlife. Loved it! Amenities close and clean don't forget your $1 COINS for the showers. Plenty of fire pits and water taps. On our stay there was no issues with noise after about 9pm, very friendly and respectful campers around us. Will be back for sure.
What a great place to create camping memories! Was our first time here and just loved it. Clean toilets, showers and BBQ areas. Most camping spots have a fire pit make sure to select it when you book. We were using the shared one which was also good. There was a supply of free firewood available when we were there which is handy. Great sunset with the very tame kangaroos and easy beach access for fishing. Access to nice walking tracks and close to Iluka for a coffee, prawns at the local coop or sourdough bread at the local bakery.
One of best campsites during our trip on East Coast, simpler living, perfect for 1-2 nights or more if you are more well equipped. Clean and everything works with the amenities. Close to beach, lots of Kangaroos, and a really dark night for those like looking at stars.
Very nice place but you have to pay for a shower money even for cold !
Beautiful environment of sea, beach, bush, with kangaroos and brush turkeys everywhere. Make sure you have a 1 dollar coin for a lovely hot shower
This place is lovely, lots of shade, lots of nice spots to park your camper or caravan. Easy access even for bigger vans and boats the boat ramp is a little tricky though Lots of room for the kids to ride their bikes too. We'll definitely come back again
*I hate camping* I just wanted to start my review with honesty. I hate the idea of camping, public amenities, sharing food, bugs. It’s not for me. My partner however LOVES it. So we compromised and hired a caravan. We have an almost 3 yr old and a 5.5yr old, so relatively small children as well. We arrived after hours, so we weren’t sure how to check in, but followed the instructions from our online booking. Pretty straightforward. Set the caravan up, and it started raining - another win for me The next morning however, my almost 3 year old woke at 4:30am delightful, so we went for a walk down to the water , which was about 200metres from our campsite. We watched the sun rise over the rock pools, and it was nothing short of stunning! The park was closing for maintenance at the end of our stay, so it was maybe only half full when we arrived? Which seemed to be the perfect t amount for me : There was four families I didn’t know them before this outing in our group, and all the kids played marvously! They talked to the kangaroos, waved at the seal, went exploring in the rock pools, swam it’s the middle of winter!!! went fishing and just generally did kid stuff. Now, I can’t tell you how nervous I was coming to shower time, because not only do I HATE public amenities, I had forgotten to bring shower thongs! These showers were some of the cleanest I have seen! They were cleaned twice a day, and never had a build up of sand under your feet. The only annoying part I would say was the $1 for a shower part. I couldn’t see this anywhere on the website, and had I not read reviews we wouldn’t have had any, and there isn’t a coin changer on the site. There is a fire pit with a flat plate at every site, a massive area for free fire wood at the front, and then a huge bin area right near the front gates for all your rubbish. There is also a toilet apart outerer thingy too There is an IGA, bottle shop, bakery, butcher shop all within a ten minute drive. If you need a laundromat I had to dry kids clothes as I didn’t pack the right clothes - there is a lovely place down at Yamba, and that was about a 40minite drive. Would love to go in summer, as the location is second to none. Thanks woody head for making my first caravan trip bearable Cheers
We love this place.. very clean, tidy and friendly park.. settled behind woody head so the traditional SE winds are not a problem.. everyone loves to have a fire while camping and this park provides wood FOC.. the only thing that I'm not keen on is the check in time at 2pm which in my books is way to late.. most of that day is gone by the time you've set up.. I feel out by 10 and check in around midday would be much more beneficial for those who travell and giving the caretakers time to have a quick tidy up around camp sites.. Restrooms: Clean, tidy and coin operated hot showers Picnic area: Electric BBQ's are cleaned regularly with picnic tables and wood fire pits provided for everyone's convenience.
Had a great stay! Beautiful quiet spot. Clean amenities and good size sites
A large campground frequented by kangaroos. Great showers! Large, clean and tidy shower & toilet blocks and an area to wash your clothes. Barbecues available and lots of taps everywhere. Beautifully maintained flat and elevated camping sites. Friendly, helpful staff in the office/camp store. A dramatic tree lined beach to the north of the campground called Woody Bay and a gorgeous white sand beach to the south called Back Beach - both walking distance from the campground. We witnessed a spectacular lightning and thunder storm on our first night.
