Amazing service. John is so fantastic we purchased from WI ger Hamilton even though we live in Whangaparoa. He offered great service even knowing we were passing through. He got the sale because of it. So happy with our Jimney for towing behind our motorhome.
This week my partner had to have her Fiat Punto checked for a fault using the Fiat diagnostic tool, which only Wingers has. The fault that it confirmed was the very same fault that her own normal mechanic had suspected. Wingers charged her 1.7hrs of labour, a bill of around $350. Her normal mechanic didn't charge her at all as it had only taken him 5-10min to identify the fault. With Wingers' estimated cost of repairing the fault being well over $2000, one would expect that you could talk to someone about the proposed repair, the likelihood of success, and whether it was even worth attempting. But as years of previous experience had taught her when the Fiat was under warranty at Wingers, it was impossible to get any kind of explanation or advice from the staff. The service centre is set up to deal with large numbers of customers and doesn't even try to offer any service or customer care at all. It's simply not their model of business, not their vibe. I should add that she'd had to wait three weeks for an appointment to even look at the car.nnUnfortunately, this was my own experience at Wingers for 10 years when I owned a Suzuki Swift, which I bought new from there and had serviced and repaired there for all 10 years 240,000km. In those 10 years probably 20 separate visits, including the odd pricy repair no one except the shuttle driver top bloke! ever remembered who I was or anything about my car, even though it was a rare diesel model with its own distinct quirks. The ex-service manager Paul was a decent bloke, but he often wasn't available, and the front desk team did not have the car knowledge to understand what I was telling them or to communicate to me what the mechanic had or hadn't done. Moreover, over the years it became pretty clear that this just wasn't the Wingers Hamilton way. You'd walk in to pick up your car and the first thing you'd get is the bill, with the front desk person pushing the EFTPOS machine at you. No explanations about the bill or work that had been done and an almost shocked attitude if you very politely questioned something. The attitude wasn't necessarily unfriendly, it was just blank. Pay up, and go away. The last time I brought the Swift in was for a WoF and a service. They did the service first and then the WoF check. The estimated repair bill to pass the WoF was over $6000, which was about twice what the car was worth. But I still had to pay the service bill around $400. Quizzed on why they hadn't done the WoF first, they said it was my fault for not specifying that. The next day I sold the car to a wrecker for $1000.nnWhen it came to replacing the Swift, I was actually quite keen on a Vitara or a Jimny, but I had to rule them out because I simply couldn't face another 10 years of dealing with Wingers servicing. There's just no customer care or any sense of loyalty or pride. So I bought a new Skoda, and yes, I am now enjoying being treated like a valued customer.nnI hope this review proves useful for anyone considering buying a new car from Wingers Hamilton.
During my three years of association with winger motors, I have witnessed firsthand the exceptional customer service and thorough attention to detail that they offer. I am pleased with the transaction and the finance details for the Suzuki vehicle that I bought not long ago. I appreciate John A.'s professional approach and assistance with all of my questions. Winger has met all of my expectations.
Highly recommend and we had the best experience on buying our car from this firm. John A. was extremely helpful since the first day, he had responded to my email the next day putting the enquiry. John went out of his way out to get us sorted with a courtesy car while the new car was getting ready. We had a million questions and John was very friendly and helpful.
John A was very professional. His communication was excellent. Explained everything about the controls of my new car. It’s nice to deal with a salesperson who is not “pushy”. Thank you John.
