Please note appointments must be made for adoptions.**SPCA has been in Wellington over 130 years and now has pride of place in the old Fever Hospital in the Green belt in Newtown on Mount Victoria.The Fever Hospital was originally opened in 1919 for human patients and was open just before Christmas 2013 just for animals.As well as space for animals to be rehomed, SPCA’s Wellington Centre, known as the Margaret Doucas Animal Hospital, has a full veterinary hospital providing care for the animals in the community as well as those in SPCA care.With a focus on community engagement and proactive solutions to animal needs, there is also the opportunity to hire area"

I have repeatedly asked for help with dealing with a colony of wild cats, they wont help desex them, they won't help rehome them and when I asked about euthanasation I got yelled by Michael and was told to go to pest control. Pest control then quoted me $360 for 2 cat, which included trapping and transport to where? You guessed it SPCA.
I went to this place for holiday program and it was fun!
These guys are awesome! They genuinely care for the animals so much - thank you Josh and team! X

This is a great place to volunteer & make a difference for animals in need. The SPCA does an amazing job finding the right homes for these animals and caring for them until they do. Please consider donating your time and/or money and definitely adopt if you’re looking for a dog or cat to join your family! There are always a bunch of adorable & lovable rescue dogs available.
Always feel welcome when we go there. Great place to take your fur babies
They work so hard and look after the animals so well. We adopted 2 kittens
