This was a grand station to both depart and arrive at, featuring a colossal glass roof and appropriately sized platforms! The pathway runs over all the platforms and navigation is easy through many signs; on a similar note various departure boards display the train times. Plenty of areas to relax when waiting for a train and the food court is in the station, also cleanliness had been maintained!
Large busy station, seemed clean and uncluttered. No charge for going to the loo and got straight in for once. Large screen telling the train times and various shops inside. One thing we bought a drink as we had a bit of a wait for next train, couldn't find a bin anywhere to get rid of the empties. Think it might be a safety issue ,bombs etc, ended up taking it on the train and got rid of them there. Have to wear masks in Scotland. We still do anyway so no great issue
Well serving busy station between Edinburgh’s old and new towns. Staff are friendly and obliging. If booking a seat on a train you can use the online service or visit the station for assistance. When booking a first class ticket take advantage of the superb first class lounge for a delightful relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a hot or cold beverage and some snacks. There is also free WIFI and of course toilet facilities. You’ll need to take the lift from platform five foyer to access the lounge. There is good signage throughout the station and mobility access is well considered. The Eurostar stops at this station and you will find plenty of bus and tram services surrounding the station - especially on Princes St. If you have a Eurail Global pass and booked a First Class ticket you can take advantage of the Stations facilities.
It’s huge train station so first of all don’t confuse between princess st. & Market St. ….. just keep it simple princess street is on right & market street is on left. Toliets are so clean & also changing room there ….. some nice restaurants and shopping centre …. It’s a complete mall
Great train station with decent shops Pret, Boots, WHSmiths and seating near the departures board. There is an indoor seating area with more shops, ticket office and toilets which has an incredible roof and detailed building to look at, if so inclined to do so I do love a good roof. Further along, near another exit there are glass panels with quotes on by Sir Walter Scott which are really great, funny and interesting . Staff have always been friendly and helpful too.
Great station, and even more fantastic staff. They were professional and kind. When our train platform was changed, they came to us personally and informed of us of the change and explained how to get to the new platform. Excellent service.
Very clean. Lots of different food options. Central Edinburgh so perfect if you are coming for a day trip
A classic railway station as seen in the Avengers movie. With 20 platforms, there are trains heading to all parts of Scotland from here and also down South. This station can get quite busy on the weekdays but there are elevators, lifts and stairs. Due to its unique location it rests between the old and new parts of the city.
Not easy to navigate at all. Very little time to find next platform for our connecting train. Queues for lift were so long you would miss your next train. So we struggled with the stairs. However having said that, I couldn't help but notice just how beautiful parts of the station was. Beautiful.
A great station with plenty of routes allowing you to access a range of locations. The station is clean and well looked after. It is also easy to use and get around.
