Had such a great day here with the family. We arrived at 1, just missing the 1pm train ride, but it took a good 2 hours to go around the village looking at everything, and then we took the 3pm ride. The train ride was great - our small boys loved it ! There is plenty to do here - lots of heritage buildings and great detail about their histories. When we visited we were the only people in the entire park, so it was quite magical. I recommend that you allow at least 2-3 hours to check out everything in the village. Cost is very reasonable - I think we paid about $24 for two adults and two kids, including a train ride (two laps of the entire village). They have eftpos and a cafe, so no need to bring cash or food.

I spent 4 hours here exploring with my partner. It's a great little romantic spot for a date. The train ride was very cute and fun. Great to discover the local history of Taranaki area and it's pioneer settlers. Worth the small entrance fee.

Excellent kiwi style walk around old village with interesting information and easy on the wallet. Good for at least a couple of hours. Train ride there too $3 extra, we'll worth it.

Very well done and maintained by volunteers. How to promote it so youth and young adults feel keen to visit?
