Everything you need for a good family day out. Staff were excellent but they needed more help. Only 2 rangers on duty on a public holiday?? Classic government fail. Apart from the staffing problems (Newman legacy??), this is a great place for a family day out. Various activities available like hiking, swimming and kayaking. The wildlife discovery centre has lots of native animals including some platypus and baby crocs. The staff are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Kids love it.

A nice little place, a good assortment of animals and reptiles. They don't have the pizazz of some of the other park's but the price is reasonable and it's nice to go and pet a kangaroo and see some cool Australian wildlife. The dining area is wonderful, overlooking some of the enclosures but the price of the food is well over what you should be paying for a small "snack" like meal, even with the beautiful views, it's a little pricey for some over easy eggs and some toast.

We like to go with the kids and check out the snakes and platypus. It's a small animal exhibition (1/10 the size of lone pine) but close to where we live and there is some surrounding bush walks mt bike tracks. It would be good if they had annual passes.

Great for kids, the discovery centre is well priced for entry. Pack a lunch and enjoy all aspects of the location including the reservoir. There is a small cafe but don't expect too much, the menu is light on and meals are small.

Great little hideaway. We went on a weekday, but I can imagine the experience being much busier on a weekend. For a couple of bucks you can take a walk through their nature enclosure and see yabbies battle it to the death, or alligators the size of puppies throw themselves at little chunks of meat on a stick. There's a fat wombat, some freaky looking fish. And a super filthy pond that has a totally useless net going around it with no actual netting underneath. Seriously though, this is a pretty stellar activity to do on your day off.
