Was going to consider studying with Victoria University but have found a better course elsewhere. But with my experience with this university, I have called to enquire for TAFE and I believe someone from this university a female secretary or someone was hopeless. Contrary, today I decided to enquire this university and chat online around 9am. The person who was available to chat to me on two different chat with us channels by mistake was Shashank. Shashank from the Student Contact Centre was very helpful where I asked him whether I would be able to complete a Bachelor of Accounting with a Cert IV and a Diploma. For sure, he said yes assuming you have the right amount of credit points. He was very patient and was willing to join up my second chat channel when I thought I lost connection but misplaced the first chat. Shashank did his best with a weird situation I had while I was trying to wait for his response at the start.nnCheers to Shashank, the female secretary was hopeless.nnCan't comment about the facilities but Victoria University was going to be my second choice over RMIT regardless of what Shashank said.nnI recommend this university for anyone who wants the VU Block Model or just doesn't want to go to RMIT.
Honestly, I am happy with VU's Block Model, the support system at VU, and the support from most lecturers and professors at the College of Arts and Education. The location of the VU's Footscray campus is great as it provides you super easy access to Footscray Park/Yarra River, Footscray Hospital, the Footscray Clinic, the Footscray Station, the Footscray Market, and Victoria Uni-lodge for student housing. Buses are very convenient for me along Ballarat Road to CBD or Sunshine. Additionally, VU Moves' Initiatives within Footscray Park Aquatic & Fitness Centre are amazing for you to access different types of sports such as Zumba Dance, Gym, Swimming, etc, which is my favorite part. VU's leadership conferences, VU's outdoor cinema activities, and VU Vollies are very interesting for you to experience. For two years, I am making the most of my life at VU's broader systems, rather than just the grades!
Worst and less organized university, i went there for an exchange program last semester and one of my grades was never uploaded. I called several times with no success at all of either reaching my teacher or their staff. They always said I had to wait, that “they will get back to me soon” which they never did.
One of the worst university I have dealt with. Very bad administration process, zero communication, the student support is of no help at all. You can't talk directly about a particular matter to the staff that is concerned with it. Takes months to reply an email. It took me 3 months to get a reply about my fee. I left the university after 1 semester and I am glad I did so.nThe one star is only for the professors there, otherwise the whole university is just so unmanaged.
I wish I had spent more time looking at the reviews of this school before deciding to come here on exchange. The most infuriating, stressful, unhelpful process of getting into courses that I needed. A huge lack of communication and organization. You never can speak directly to the individuals who help with specific processes. I tried for three weeks simply to get into a course and no one helped me no matter how many times I emailed, called, or spoke to many individuals in person. Then finally three days before the new classes were starting they said I had three hours to pick a new unit. This place is a joke. It ruined my experience coming abroad. Literally do not study here holy.
