Most of the classrooms are outdated, they have 90s equipment, some of the classroom have water leakage and a hole in the ceiling at T block classroom.nnHowever the teachers are really helpful, block learning is really not stressful at all, assessments are not as difficult and most of your assignments are usually completed within a week.nnIt would have been a five star if the classroom didn't look so run down and we're not using 90s equipments.
tl;dr I'm applying at Kangan institute instead. Their application page doesn't work. Had a back-and-forth and put on hold multiple times, had to take screenshots and supply them to admin for them to handball them to IT, who said it was a glitch and gave me a bad fix/suggestion, then I call again to say it hasn't been resolved and I can't even access the app page now. They told me to supply more screenshots so I just gave up. Seems like they don't know what they're doing and it'll be an ongoing thing...I'm supposed to be getting qualified for work and the people who do their work there are even less qualified than me for anything.
Do NOT do the hospitality course here! The standards for what they expect you to complete are terrible, they do not teach you what they want you to do and expect you to know everything. The teachers here don't understand what they're doing either as well as being incredibly judgemental and disrespectful towards you if you want to do something but aren't trained too yet. I never had the opportunity to work on the coffee machine during restaurant days! I dropped out of my course last year because they expected us to be here every single day for the practical even if we were sick, but they'd send us home if we were! Find another tafe to teach hospitality that can actually teach you bar skills and coffee skills!
Fantastic facility. John Burgess is a fantastic professor.
Disorganised, they changed the term timetable with only two days notice, and my hybrid course has too many online classes compared to in-person classes. Great teachers though.
