I bought a nix for my wife, it arrived and was one size too small, sent it back and had to pay $12 for postage, and was prepared to pay the return postage costing another $11 for the replacement but to my utter surprise, they told me that there is no tag on the item and the package wasn't the original so they won't accept it. I said to them this is what I got and I did NOT use it or tear anything off as it was never there to begin with, whatever they got back was how I received.. Anyway they refused to exchange the item and sent it back. Please have a look at the photo of the package - so what they are saying is that I somehow managed to get a Bike specific second life bag to replace the original packaging, prepared to pay $23 in extra postage because I happened to have used it and then decided to exchange it for a bigger size. Whilst I want to support Aust small businesses, actions like this makes it very hard to continue supporting them. I mean even without this saga if things don't fit, you are up for an extra $20 in postage alone on top of the original item + postage.. stay with companies that know how to do online business.
My bike came with all components in good condition within a respectable but delayed time frame. I had some issues with customer service and shipping, the communication between staff and consumer could be improved however I was informed they are working on minimal staff. The shipping times listed on their site are incorrect- expect 2-3 weeks on your order as previous reviews state and you won’t have an issue. I got a really good price on an awesome bike- just had to be patient.
Picked up some bicycle tubes from here recently and I loved how friendly and helpful the staff were while I was there. They've also got a really good range of products you can't find at a general bicycle shop. Highly recommend it for people who like to modify or repair their own bikes.
Same experiences as alot of people it seems, I wish I had read these before. I ordered an item they said they had in stock 4 weeks before a planned trip. I received no emails, I then ask them where it is, they said its not in stock and they'd chase to see how long, then nothing, they ignored 9 messages through various channels. I had to buy the item elsewhere, now they are saying its shipped haven't told me who with so I can;t track it and I'm going to have to send it back. Judging by other reviews I am now expecting them to try and not refund my money with some probable wild excuse. Expensive lesson that I should read reviews first.
Literally the worst online experience. Zero communication or updates on order placed. Multiple days waiting for them to respond to simple questions. Multiple stuff ups with shipping the product causing lengthy delays that are not fixed until the customer contacts Velogear. Yet every reply is met with a response making it out like Velogear has done nothing wrong and it is all the customers fault for their short comings. Would not do business with this company is they paid me.
If they could have zero stars, I’d give zero. They have really poor stock taking practices and will take your money for stock they don’t have. After waiting 1 month and receiving various excuses for not having stock the warehouse is moving, there’s a flood interstate, should be here by the end of the week etc, I asked for a refund. They don’t have a phone number and the only form of communication is via email. Another week for a response and another week after that to give the refund and a further 3 days to process. Next time, I’ll pay a bit more from a more reputable business.
I recently purchased cleats not genuine but advertised as "it will work with compatible pedals". It did not! Velogear refused to offer exchange/return on the product and you even have to pay for postage when returning the item. Do not recommend this shop.
Buyers beware. My experience was much like many others if you read the reviews. I purchased two bike travel bags for more than $2200, only to find they weren't in stock. No big deal, except when I wanted to get my money back. Eventually I had to refer the matter to PayPal to force a refund which took a fortnight and responses from Velogear's online platform was non-committal.
Got a pair of schwalbe one tle tubeless tires for my giant TCR with hookless carbon rims. Been chasing them everywhere and these guys had them in stock for a VERY competitive sale price. The only thing I can complain about is that I didn’t receive my order confirmation until the next day when I emailed them, but there’s a 50% chance that was a typo in my email which I could be at fault for. Quite happy with the service, really. Cheers
Purchased 4 days ago and have not recieved tracking advice. Purchased for husbands birthday 31st Oct. Now worried after reading bad reviews. Im a pensioner and cant afford a mistake. I have already contacted Paypal they Asked if I had contacted the company. It was a multiple choice answer but didnt allow for the company having no phone. However I am escalating the request to Paypal.
