This accommodation is absolutely top-notch. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit, which was immaculately presented. Tina was a superb host and made our time there most enjoyable. Coupled with stunning weather, the cycling weekend could not have been better!
Great support team for riding the Twin Coast trail. Cant fault them, extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. The rental bikes were high quality and the shuttle pickups were on time and smooth. Next time I will also stay in their motel. So easy.
Wow!nWhat a beautiful place. We were in town for a tangi, and booked in to Twin Coast overnight. The hosts are awesome people, so friendly and happy to have a chinwag and the rooms are beyond immaculate.nI've stayed in motels right across NZ, and this is by far one of the best I've ever stayed in. The beds are super comfortable, we had a TV in each bedroom and one in the lounge and woke up to a beautiful sunny day despite all of the rain we'd had coming up from Auckland.nIf you've ever stayed anywhere immaculate, this place will top that hands down.nnI would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the motel to anyone - it caters for everything you need and much more.nMy only regret is that I can't give them more than 5 stars as 5 is the highest that Google will let you go...nnSo if you're in Kaikohe and you need somewhere comfortable and extremely well presented, this should be your first choice, hands down.
Tina was such a great host, she made us feel at home right away. Provided valuable advice and support for our 2 days of riding. The bikes are in excellent condition, we rode both the electric and non-electric ones. When things changed for us, Tina ensured were we looked after. The motel rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable after the long ride. The town itself is great, will surely visit again. Thanks Tina.
We were travelling NZ mostly by bus, and I emailed owner Tina who arranged an afternoon shuttle pickup in Kawakawa to their compound in Kaikohe. We had 2 nights booked in their motel, so we rode West to Horeke on the next day, shuttled back and rode East to Opua on the second day, where their shuttle met us with our luggage and kindly dropped us off at our local lodging. Their service and operation is first rate, as previous posts have stated. Tina is a wonderful person who cares deeply about her customers.nWe are 60 somethings in good physical condition, so we rode standard bikes and found the trail West easy to moderate in difficulty. We would not have enjoyed it nearly as much doing it the opposite direction, Horeke to Kaikohe. There is one really heavy climb on gravel with lots of switchbacks.Fun going downhill on it Westbound though! The East route was easy riding and very enjoyable as well with almost as nice scenery as the west route, which is also a little more interesting.nThe motel is close to all amenities, and there is a fantastic Thai takeaway and a really good Indian restaurant as well. Highly recommend this business, and a quick shoutout to their very pleasant & personable shuttle driver Keith
