I am a Blenheim local and have eaten at this restaurant on numerous occasions and always been pleased but today when I went with my friend we had the most disappointing meals. My vegetarian gnocci was just a plateful of deep fried potato balls swimming in grease with a couple of bits of artichoke, a few berries, some stringy bits of greenery and a few thin slices of cheese on top. My friend had a dry half chicken with more bones than meat, some peas and braised lettuce! We both left half the meal and when the waitress apologised and asked what she could do to make us return we suggested a credit note and we would give them another chance, but she declined and only took off the price of the wine - there was nothing wrong with the wine! We had waited nearly an hour for this meal and were bitterly disappointed. We realise it was busy (cruise ship day and wine tours) but vineyards should realise that locals are here in the winter when visitors are not - there are plenty of other vineyards around Blenheim to eat at.
