Had the opportunity to dine, with friends, from the Bistro Menu earlier this week. The service and the wine were excellent Everyone at my table enjoyed their entree's and their deserts. However we were all disappointed with the main courses. The chicken was slightly underdone, the fish was dry and over cooked. The side salad was a handful of salad greens and nothing else. The side dish of seasonal vegetables was only a bowl of corn on the cob. We felt that both side dishes needed more variety (salad items and vegetables).

I just had the nicest dinner at the Bistro. The food was excellent. Alex selected the finest wines by the glass to compliment my dinner. He was extremely knowledgeable and selected the perfect Herzog wines to match each dish. The blueberry tart was just delicious.

Just wonderful! Great food, amazing setting, very friendly and professional service, combined with outstanding organic wine. Probably the best dining experience we’ve had in our New Zealand holiday!

Beautiful setting if you’re having lunch, however just tasting is disappointing. It all felt upmarket, serious and pretentious without having the wines to back it up. $10 is better spent at Cloudy Bay, not so uptight and far more generous, or better still try the wineries with free tastings and actually break a smile or two (Bladen).

Very good food, wine, desserts, service and atmosphere. Lunch in the garden is a plus! Just be sure to have enough time, we don't know why but we had a long wait for our plate at lunch... Except that it was perfect!
