One of the worst customer service experiences we had in New Zealand with Turmeric - Kerikeri! I and some of our family friends have visited this place on 27th December - 11.38 am The waiter/manager was so rude and thoroughly unprofessional. As per the printout on the wall - On-duty manager: Mr Anik Acharya Was not sure whether he was present at the restaurant at that time I was busy talking to people I accompanied with and I just took the menu card from him, the waiter said: "You are snatching the menu card dude" and that fellow kept looking at me having a fire in his eyes. Despite it being so rude but I ignored him. Subsequently, when he came again to take orders suddenly he said, "Dude, are you irritated in the morning"..was so shocking as even after ignoring him, still, he was running behind?.. In front of 10 people again he said " Say sorry dude, you have to apologise to me". I still kept cool and I told my people that I'm not talking to him but this guy is trying to create a scene for no reason? After some moments, I said sorry rather I said I apologise for my behaviour but still the fellow is standing and looking at me and said " Dude, I welcome you and you can't behave like this with me, This is not India.." When I asked his name he said, "My Name is Deep and I'm the owner over here, you can do whatever you want to do" TBH this was so insulting and embarrassing especially when you are sitting next to your partner and friends like family to me. Taste, Aroma, Food catering service leaves shore behind when you encounter such worst scenario. We will NEVER EVER recommend this restaurant to anyone who travels to Turmeric-Kerikeri!
My family and I found the food delicious and very reasonably priced. 1st time being to Kerikeri but well worth a stop here in future. Though most vegetarian one ate a rogan josh. Everyone enjoyed their lunch special and the rice and nan went well with the meal. Salted lassi was most of our choice and the cheese nan was absolutely brilliant
Food was terrible, the curries were so salty I couldn’t eat it. I told them once they brought out the food but they said no they didn’t add extra salt. They then asked me how our meal was when I went up to pay, so I told them and then he just walks off out the back, no sorry to hear that nothing. He sends out the young boy to try and get me to pay the full amount after telling them twice how bad the curries were and at least hoping for an explanation. Food took ages to come out too. We did have our 3 young children with us who were starving and they did unfortunately eat some of the currie which is why this restaurant couldn’t understand the problem. At 8.15pm, they would have eaten anything. In the end they didn’t charge me for the curries. It was very disappointing!!
A delicious takeaway! We had a new for 6, including 2 children. Asked for milder food for the kids and they wolfed it down, delicious good and rapid delivery!
Disappointed with the service, just bought take aways at $20 per container of curry and they gave me one container of rice as the starch. They said the rice is complimentary and the $20 per item is for the curry. What a rip off!! The first restaurant Indian restaurant I’ve come across that chargers only for the curry and doesn’t provide the starch to complete a meal.
YUM! Ordered a Lamb Saagwala and it’s the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had my fair share! meat was tender and service was prompt. I’ll be back!
The best Indian restaurant in kerikeri. Amazing selection of food. Spotlessly clean, nice atmosphere so eat in. Warm friendly staff
As always I had a scrumptious meal at Turmeric Indian. The waiter was very courteous and helpful, and went out of his way to make my guests feel extra special. Everyone commented about the yummy food and awesome service
Fantastic service, we couldn't have asked for literally anything more, I wish them all the best with their business. And may get something there next when I get there in 2023
