Story

We love cycling at Torpedo 7 Christchurch, and our bike department is one of the best in the country! We stock a wide range of bikes and gear, and also have a fully fledged workshop for any repairs that need doing. This page is dedicated to keeping you informed on what's going in our shop, what news we come across and what events are happening in Christchurch and beyond. Bike shop- across street from main store. Staff was great! Bicycle touring so did my repairs right there on the sidewalk. A few times they loaned me the tools I needed to get the job done. Busy holiday season but the staff tried hard to get to all the customers.

Went in to put a bike on laybuy for my son. There were nome in stock, but there was one in Hamilton and one in Auckland, I asked the question can you get them transfer it and I will put the deposit now. No apparantly they dont do that but i could ring the other store myself. So I did and it turns out you can do a store transfer and pay a deposit. Seriously with the exception of Thomas, the staff in the main and bike shops are unhelpful and unwilling and are in dire need of customer services and procedures training!!! 2 stars is still being generous.

It is very important for them to sell "merino"-products. Merino is a kind of wool that is produced all over the world not only in New Zealand. That is very important because some shops try to sell their "Made in China"-Products for hundreds of $, in knowledge that some could confuse the meaning of "Merino" with a New Zealand context. Like this shop. Skip it. Better go online and buy Norwegian "Merino". In Norway, there are just a few sheep compared to New Zealand but they give better wool... I mean why is Merino-Wool so expansive when there are millions of sheep in here? Its just a tourist-trap.

The staff are fine until they take your money. A part on my bike was not installed correctly and hence broke. I took the bike into the shop in January to get the part replaced. It has now been 4 months! and I have still not received the part. I have gone in store on 5 occasions and when I asked the staff what is happening, they have laughed at the situation. On each occasion the staff 'promise' that it will get sorted, and when it doesn't they are the first to blame someone else. On my last visit I was told the part would be 5 weeks away! I could order it online and it would arrive within the week! It has now been two months and I am still yet to hear back. The customer service I have received is beyond ridiculous. Nobody has taken responsibility for the situation, purely because nobody cares. I was a regular customer at torpedo 7 and I have easily spent over $10,000 in the store.
