It would have been incredible to have witnessed this station run at full capacity.
First of all, it is a beautiful heritage station, which provides a lot of history from days gone by. However, I don't like the fact there is only one train service from Brisbane that operates only twice a week. It's very disrespectful, especially with Toowoomba's population nearing 150,000. Hopefully, a new and better train service will come in the near future.
There don't seem to be many trains stopping here anymore and the toilets are locked and the brasserie is only open a few hours when trains do go through. Too bad it's not open all the time.
How can we not have a real train service to and from Brisbane? We have a station & rails even a large population that travel to and from Brisbane daily. We have 2 major bus services that run at the same time to and from Brisvegas and if you miss the last 4pm bus from Brisvegas you better get yourself somewhere to stay the night. This is a joke. 30 years ago they had a train service that ran to Helidon which was at least something but that was a long long time ago, you would have thought they would have progressed by now! In Sydney you can catch a train up the same Great Dividing Range to Katoomba on a regular daily basis, so what is it with Toowoomba? It is quite obvious the governments and council don't give a stuff about us up here on the mountain as all the money goes to Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast whilst we get nothing! Let's get with the times and get a reliable rail service that does'nt take 4 hours to get to Brisbane twice a week and call that an adequate service....
The children from Goodstart Highfields rode the Toowoomba Train to Spring Bluff over the Carnival week. The staff and children that went on the train have come back to me raving about the experience and the help they received from the staff at Toowoomba Rail. The staff went above and beyond helping educators and engaging with the children during the morning. They made the trip a memorable experience for all. Thank you and we will see you next year.
