Recently tried to update wife's name on our title, but the absolute peasants at the Titles Office couldn't understand the forms. We apparently sent in 'additional forms' which they asked us to remove - which was her certified ID!! Really? You can't just remove it? We put it in to be thorough. It clearly stated on the declaration form that we got married and hence requested the name change, but it was rejected as they couldn't figure out the "circumstances of the name change" - we even sent in the certified marriage certificate. Not like it would take a rocket scientist to figure that one out... Now it cost us the fee and an additional 2 weeks. We best not lose our offer on our refinance because of this. Really feels like it's government revenue raising at it's finest...
What a pleasure working with you. Accurate, friendly, informative, super efficient and all round a model of how the Queensland Public Service should operate - essentially like a private enterprise representing public interests. The following is not the Titles Office fault because this is regulatory: please consider abandoning the Form18 for mortgagee consent - it's no good to anyone. The Titles Office itself: top marks! Thank you.
They recently changed their system, if you do not download the link within the time frame given it is removed and you must be re-purchase it. I purchased the document in advance unaware of the new changes and when it came to start the job I could not access the file that I purchased. I called the office to discuss and they said, I quote "Not my problem"
A useless government officers where the managing staff are conveniently "unavailable" when asked for. If I could give zero stars, I would. They have eaten up over $300 worth of fees on continuous requisitions that they just happen to find in later reviews of the document. Also, god forbid you present them with a a probate grant as evidence that someone is dead; they need a stat. dec. too!
My wife and I were spose to settle a house sale 26 hours ago, four hours after the scheduled settlement period we were told to find somewhere to stay overnight at 530 pm on Macleay Island, we weren't able to access to our new house, because someone at the titles office had stuffed up the contracts. 26 hours later we are still sitting in our car in the ferry terminal carpark awaiting some action, do think the Queensland public service department give a Rats A' about anyone other themselves ? It seems that any beaucradic department controlled by the Queensland government does what they please when they please and takes as long as they want!
I had to wait on the phone for so long the office was closed and after almost an hour I still don't have the answers to my questions. I did try online first. Anybody would think it was Centrelink. Disappointing and I felt so frustrated and upset that I just wanted to ask a couple of lousy questions and got absolutely nowhere. Just had to carry the phone around for ages listening to horrible music. It just seems cruel to treat people like this.
Terrible and unacceptable service!!! I purchased a title search in January and called them 4 times, emailed them 5 times, I still haven’t received my title search. This is unacceptable. They do not reply my emails and when you call them they only suggest you to make another purchase. !!!
Absolutely disgusting that as tax payers we can not even speak to a person for help with important documents. Using..Covid as an excuse is not good enough and if this is how the Government looks at cutting costs it has lost my vote. To actually hear someone say on the other side of a wall don’t speak to them we don’t have to makes me really sad…is this what the government is portraying the future to be. It’s becoming a very sad world.
Purchased a property in 2019 and settlement was 15 November. The lodgement date for title update was 21/11/19. The transfer to the trustee was 21/11/19. Went online to obtain an updated title on 13/1/20, paid $49.95, when the new title search was emailed to me it was still registered in the previous owners name. Today 30/1/20 I went to the title office to obtain a new title search and had to pay another $20.00. Why did it take almost 2 months for the land titles office to catch up with their paperwork and why did I have to pay another $20.00. Total ripoff.
Asked for some general details over the phone and the woman was nothing but a rude POS. Emailed later and got a terrific reply from someone else working from home. So whoever is working in the office, you are terrible at your job.
