Over the last year the QBCC has caused me multiple Issues and they always fail to treat me in an honest and fair manner. As a result I have been subject to unfair and undue stress. The QBCC has provided me with false information, lied to me and treated me unfairly on several occasions, most recently the QBCC gave me the incorrect licensing information stating to me that I do not need to hold two separate licences despite the legislation never changing so legally I always required two licenses, after a number off phone calls and emails Craig Anderson stated to me the I will 100% have the administration fee waved and may receive the first year licensing free, he said he would email me the details, I never received the email..... On Friday the 2nd of march I contacted the QBCC Via phone and spoke with the team leader, after a lengthy conversation she admitted that the QBCC Administration IS defective and has given out false and misleading information on several occasions. She then proceeded to tell me that the information given to me by Craig Anderson was also in-fact False and misleading. The team leader then proceeded to tell me to (in essence )tell me I have no rights I been lied to several times but if I don't pay the full fee within the month then I will be charged even more. I was unfairly forced into a corner. I surrendered and agreed I will just pay despite the unfair treatment I have constantly received from the Defective QBCC. The team leader asked if I want the forms sent via email and I kindly said yes. The forms where never sent, Now where do I stand?

My Elderly Parents was totally destroyed and blindsided by these known criminal builders you keep giving licenses too again and again under different names! My father attempted suicide over this ordeal! It is known by others, you keep a look the other way approach to this. I understand you look out for the construction industry but not the people who are getting completely hurt, lied to, treated like incompetent retards, sometimes extorted ;) No support at all! There are some "QBCC Licensed Company/Individuals" who shouldn't be walking among us, locked away for a fairly long time, For financially and emotionally hurting these innocent naive families. They are under the support from you.... bot reply... you can contact me...

If I could give 0 stars I would as your service is disgusting to say the least. We were having trouble with a painter and went to the QBCC for assistance. They started a dispute but also said it may be in our interests to pay for an independant inspector to view our issues which we could use in any follow up proceedings. We did and he was brilliant. He found a number of defects that needed rectification whilst continuing to conform to the Australian standards. The QBCC then decided it wasn't enough to just have this inspector, they needed to send one of theirs. He was an absolute joke. He disregarded everything the previous inspector said and just supported the painters views. There was no impartiality, they were in full support of the painter. We were told that we should expect drips and overpaint to the paintwork. We should expect to see the nail holes in the skirting to still be visible. We were told that we could not expect preparation of old woodwork such as window sills and that they shouldn't have to sand between coats of paint. It was just a farce. We were totally blind sighted as other builders had seen the work and commented on the poor quality. We were just humoured by the inspector and all support went to the "poor little painter". This is why there are so many disreputable tradies on the coast. They can provide poor work and when the customer complains to the government body set up to protect consumers rights, they favour the trades person. The only outcome was that a dodgy painter got what he wanted and my 70 year old mum was totally taken advantage of, not only by this creep but by the body supposed to protect her. All you did was increase her stress for two additional months and force her to delve further into her superannuation. You should be proud of yourselves as an industry, you help horrific people take advantage of others that can't fight themselves. I really don't know how you can sleep at night but I know my mum doesn't and I'm sure it won't help her knowing it's up to us to try and fix the defects ourselves. She has a broken hip so I'm sure it will be really easy for her to get up a ladder to fix the issues created by this absolute prick. I can't wait for the stock standard reply that will be sent after this email. It must be really hard to respond personally with compassion whilst texting a friend and drinking a coffee. But then it's s lot of effort to come up with something new. Don't waste your time with the QBCC. They are as bad as the rogues they support.

I have been disheartened with many of the decisions made by QBCC employees. As in my opinion the technical advice from its employee’s is not credible and makes no sense when you compare it to other opinions of more highly trained experts who specialise in that field of defect. (I.e. truss engineers, highly recognised state experts) I am becoming aware that many other people are experiencing the same level of dissatisfaction with the actions and decisions of certain QBCC employees. I have discovered recently that Ken Turner "Radio Presenter" from 4BC has been investigating the QBCC for ten years and has released a survey on the QBCC so that information and data relating to the QBCC can be collated and the appropriate government agencies informed of the results. I have been dealing with the QBCC for 4 years, over this time I have noticed that the decisions of its Building Inspectors about defective work in many instances do not reference the B.C.A (Deemed to satisfy performance requirements), Australian Standards, manufacturer's instructions, its own Commissioner's publications concerning defective building work, accepted trade practices, QBCC roadshow to tradies education and even that the work needs to finished to an acceptable standard or finish. Unfortunately these poor technical opinions are then often relied on by the QBCC, it appears without question through the internal process of decision making, for directions to rectify, compliance to directions, insurance claims and then further at QCAT. I have also closely watched the Modus operandi of the QBCC Building Inspectors who in some cases purposely photograph the areas that aren’t defective and only feature these photographs in the report when they state an opinion of “no defect” The Inspectors also at times arrive together with the Licensee? The QBCC gives carriage solely to one decision maker in its original decision. Although, I can’t find in the Act where this is a requirement. Subsequently, four Q.B.C.C Building Inspectors could do a site inspection and reach four different conclusions (no defect, structural defect (Cat 1), unsatisfactory defect (Cat 2), contractual issue) this is without applying the requirements of the act and including the unsigned submissions from the licensee. In my case the licensee's submissions included the windows and doors leaked because I sprayed water on them, this then changed to, it was now a design fault of the windows and doors and not his responsibility to fix them. He has submitted that access had been denied yet notified the QBCC the directional work was complete. Convinced a Building Inspector in to believing birds had pecked out putty in nail holes, he couldn’t remember when major works happened during construction, submitted the plumber didn’t tell him that he had installed two vent pipes (protruding out of the roof 1m) so how did he know to fix both. It appears this poor technical opinion stems from the fact QBCC senior technical managers are not degree qualified in building or qualified engineers yet in my complaints were happy to make decisions on engineering issues of “no defect”. These poor technical opinions by the QBCC employees cost consumers financially when lawyers and experts reports (not referenced in QBCC decisions) are again sought when reviewing the decision of the QBCC at QCAT. We as consumers and home owners are at the same time subjected to high level of stress, (so sorry Andi, for your parents suffering and pain) financial hardship and drawn out litigation due to these baseless decisions. In one of my cases their decisions were grossly incompetent. It appears by reading other reviews other people have experienced similar. The question begs to be asked, what is actually going on in the QBCC? Unless we all stand up together nothing will change P.S. Kate, if this review was about the first line customer service operators it would have been 5 stars. I tried to phone you but apparently you can answer feedback online but you are not allowed to speak to any one over the phone.

Congratulations on screwing over pensioners and single mums! You must be proud of your achievement in protecting those who screw over those who aren't in a position to defend themselves! After seeing the work your so-called "professional" painters did on my mum's house, as someone who has extensive renovation and building work experience, I was appauled at the sub-standard workmanship. But at the least, I assumed the work would be pulled up by your inspectors. Not likely. All you did was attempt to justify his piss-poor workmanship as "acceptable industry standard" For what industry? Clown School? Every other professional and inspector who looked at it were aghast at how bad it was. Not only the multiple defects, horrendous prep-work and countless overpaints, runs and damage, stripped screws, and overall disgusting workmanship, but even the expensive, brand new solid timber and glass door the painter allowed to drop and badly damage, to the point where the frame shattered and separated, but he just put back up and wouldn't replace, but just rehang it as it fell apart, your inspector tried justifying as "just one of those things"! And this was just the start of it!! He even tried stating he couldn't do rectification work cause he was scared of my mum. Who's 75 years old. And is THE most innocuous person on the planet. Who always pays on time, and gets suckered because pricks like this take advantage of her at every opportunity. WHO GAVE THE SOB COFFEE AND BISCUITS EVERY DAY HE WAS HERE, AS HE PRETENDED TO DO A PROFESSIONAL JOB! Yeah, REAL damned scary, you liar! If I was a big islander guy, built like a brick dunny, I'd be scared of a little old lady like her, too. What a pathetic, unethical excuse! You bloody coward! I mean, WHAT THE ****, QBCC? This was some of the worst work I've ever encountered, and I've handled builders and tradespeople professionally for 25 years! I mean, I've dealt with incompetent work plenty of times, but this? This was appauling!!! EVERY BIT WAS APPAULING! So, it's clear what the QBCC's role is. You're not there to protect the public against bad tradespeople! It's obvious all you are is an internal industry boys club, protecting your crony mates and covering their a**es when their incompetence is called out and made public. In the process, ****ing over old people and single mum's. People who don't have the money to now go and get the rectification done to fix what YOUR tradespeople did, but just have to live with it. You should be proud of yourselves. You're a disgrace. Absolutely pitiful. My God, how can you live with yourselves? Seriously?
