If you're looking for a touch of Italy in the heart of Melbourne then look no further! Bellissimo! It was an absolute pleasure to dine in at thirty eight chairs, from the mood lighting to the Italian waiters it was just pure delight. We let our waiter choose our wine and he did a fantastic job pairing our wine perfectly with our meal. Everything we ordered was delicious and I cannot wait to go back there! I went with a group of friends and even tho we ordered a lot we still had plenty of room and never felt crowded. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I had the delight of dining with TEC for my birthday celebration this week. Everything from our greeting at the entrance to seating to the overall hospitality was fantastic. It's such a breath of fresh air to see people so passionate about hospitality and the level of attention given to the dining experience, really enjoyed the night. The food and beverage options were impeccably with a large wine list to suit all palates. Our pasta dishes were fresh and delicious, to top it all off a sing along with my birthday dessert. Thanks so much to the team.
Highly recommend. We forgot to make a booking but we got to have a table allocated for a set amount of time. Food was delicious and cocktails were great - we asked the bartender to make whatever he wanted and were pleasantly surprised each time.
It's always great to come here for meals. The food is always consistent & cooked to perfection. The wait staff are always so friendly & helpful. Have been back many times & will be back again!
Tasty Italian, they offer gluten free pasta too. Food quality was high and service attentive. Recommend you make a booking as this restaurant is busy.
Simply superb! Everything from the food to the service, Thirty Eight Chairs did not disappoint! The moscato wasn’t too sweet and went beautifully with all the food we got! It was smooth and easy to drink. For entrees, we ordered the grilled octopus and beef carpaccio. Octopus was perfectly cooked, so tender and cut so easily. Wasn’t rubbery at all. Very well seasoned and all the flavours paired amazing together. Potatoes were on the more bland side though. The beef carpaccio melted in your mouth! As soon as it hits your tongue, you get that smooth, buttery/oily feel. The lemon olive oil cut through the oiliness, and those croutons gave a very nice touch. The Parmesan gave the dish a little bit of tang, was the perfect bite! For mains, we decided to get 2 pastas - the lobster spaghetti and the duck ragu pappardelle. Both pastas were cooked to perfection, very al dente and chewy, exactly how pasta should be! The lobster spaghetti really was the star of the show! This dish is RAVED about in the reviews and i simply could not pass the opportunity to try it for myself. It sure lived up to the standards! That Bisque sauce my goodness i have not stopped thinking about it. Seafood was also very fresh, prawns were so sweet and flesh so succulent. Easily one of the best seafood spaghettis i’ve ever had! The duck ragu pappardelle was awesome too! The duck itself was super flavourful and the pasta sauce was infused with duck rendered fat i believe! You can smell and taste the duck in the pasta sauce - mouth watering goodness! I was very impressed by this dish. We were so full by the end of the night we had no room left for dessert which was such a shame. Will definitely be back to try out the other mains and pastas, and we will ensure there’s room for some dessert Moscatto Grilled Octopus, kipfler potato, nduja, black olive crumble Beef Carpaccio, watercress, parmesan, croutons, lemon infused olive oil Spaghetti, lobster & Royal prawn meat, bisque sauce Pappardelle, duck ragù, Napoli sugo, pecorino
Have Sunday dinner at Thirty Eight Chairs. Overall, everything was good! Fresh caprese, nice cooked pasta taste good. But seat was a bit uncomfortable. It was too close to the next seat.
One of the best Italian Restaurants in Melbourne. Very unique dishes with supremely fresh ingredients. Perfect combination. 5 Star Experience.
Spent my partners birthday here and I must say I looove the vibe! Service is impeccable! The pastas were delicious especially the seafood spaghetti but according to my partner some of the ravioli lacked filling and was like 6or7 pcs only. Cocktails and desserts were yum! A new Italian favourite restaurant has been added on my list. @lilgirlfrommanila
Exceptional. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve eaten in Melbourne and that cocktail it was gin, lemon, cherry… I wish I got the name went down delightfully! Hubby and I loved it and will be back ASAP. Beautiful venue, amazing service- we loved our evening thank you so so much such a treat to dine with you
