My partner and I order pretty much the same thing every time and it's always delicious. The time to prepare the food isn't THAT long and their time estimate is accurate. I honestly couldn't  believe they had bad reviews. I don't think some of these one star reviews are very fair. But whatever. More for me.

No 1 fraud people, yeseterday they give horrible uneatable chilli chicken, then I told then please change this .they said to wash it and eat., this punjabiiiii guy start fighting me. We have bill and photos and videos updatung soon.

I don’t normally leave bad reviews but this place was disgusting. Complete lack of hygiene. Bowls are not cleaned properly between use - our papadums and naan were both served in greasy bowls with stale crumbs from previous meals. Had to wait 40 min for food. Watched the chefs for a good 5 min whilst waiting to pay - absolutely appalling. Kitchen was filthy and ladles were used between meat and vegetarian dishes.

This is a conflicted review... In some respects I think The Yarra Indian is 5 stars - the food is AMAZING. It’s super spicy and the rice is always fluffy and fresh. I crave the Beef Palak and the Lamb Madras. YUM. Honestly, the best take away Indian in Melbourne. 

However, I’ve only ordered on Foodora (like 1x per week for a year!) and their food prep often takes a lot longer than expected which is super frustrating to both me and whoever is meant to deliver the food. I also once had a dead bug in my Foodora bag which I want to blame on someone besides the restaurant.... but I dunno. 

I feel like the long wait can be attributed to fresh, made to order meals. So I’ll continue to eat here! They’ve got me hooked.

Great food, but really slow service. They often take an exceptionally long time to prepare the food for pickup and delivery.

In one case it was three hours before we received the delivery, which was meant to be 40 minutes. Called several times and they continually told us that it was 15 minutes away. It wasn’t.

Sounds like this happens a bit. We’ve waited for food and overhead annoyed delivery people being told it will be 5 minutes only to come back several times, missing other opportunities to make deliveries. Staff don’t seem to care.

Summary is, don’t order if you want your food in a reasonable time period. You might get it on time, but probably not. If you don’t mind a late dinner, go ahead because the food is good.
