Very fresh food, tender and juicy kebab! The bread was very fresh with generous portion of dip. There was only 1 staff on Monday night so took us a while to order the food but the kitchen is really efficient! The seating is a bit tight in there
We went to Persian Room 248 for lunch and ordered the Zereshk Polo and Barg Kebab with a side salad. The lamb tenderloin in the Barg Kebab was tender and flavourful and so was the butter rice it came with. The Zereshk polo had the potential to be delicious but the marinated chicken was quite sour and unbalanced, and the rice only had a tiny bit of saffron. Service was friendly, and the venue itself was quite modern.
Lamb kebab is good. However, the amount of rice in each dish is too much. I feel like I spent too much money in buying rice...Fish and rice is just pan fried salmon. I can cook it myself. Nothing special.
I am giving four starts just to support this local restaurant, however, the actual point is 3.5 or less with food tastes. I just enjoyed Barg kebab as it was tender and delicious, plus fantastic customer service with smile. Unfortunately, other kababs was not tasty enough and I believe that the owner can change the recipes. Just suggested. Firstly, Marinated chicken hasn’t had enough Saffron and they’ve used more Turmeric instead. Secondly, Minced lamb kebabKubideh it was far away from real taste and you could smell raw lamb meat not good/enough marinated, finally, there is not enough Saffron on Saffron’s rice as you could see in photo. Thanks
Went for a pick up for a combo meal. Food quality and portion size has changed a lot since last visit a year ago. Not good at all! It was a very small portion, cold, not tastey ,without butter for rice, and not representative of authentic Iranian food as before. It most tastes like Afghan food as the kebabs were very spicy! Also overcooked. Won't try again!
This is a great Persian restaurant and it’s a blessing that we have a proper Persian restaurant near the CBD. I hope the owners can improve the quality as they go ahead.
My wife and I went for dinner in this restaurant yesterday. We ordered 2 dishes Koobided and Momtaz, the first has 2 minced lamb and the second dish comes with one minced lamb and one marinated chicken skewer. Unfortunately, some of the chicken pieces were undercooked and you can see it s still red, so I called the waiter who politely apologized for this mistake and offered us another chicken skewer but we didn’t want chicken anymore after what we saw so we asked her to get us a minced lamb skewer instead. After talking to her manager she came back and said you have to pay extra $10 for the minced lamb or just get the chicken. By the way the minced lamb dish was $4.5 cheaper than the other dish, so how come we pay extra and for what? What is it our fault to have the undercooked chicken???. We were very shocked and disappointed and for sure this will be our last time in this restaurant.
We were lucky enough to visit this before lockdown and it was worth the visit. The menu offered so many choices but we eventually decided on the Special Dip Platter, the Persian King 3 skewer Kebab with dill rice, Lamb Shank with broadbean rice and Faloodeh for dessert. The generous servings turned this into a feast with an orchestra of flavours. Each dish served up unique tastes, scents and textures from the deeply spiced meat dishes to the light and refreshing cucumber & yoghurt dip plus the Faloodeh. This sorbet-like dessert with vermicelli noodles and rose water syrup was a stand out for me - distinctive and lingering pleasantly. The black team with cinnamon and cardamom also deserves a mention - an unforgettable experience in itself. Staff were helpful in our menu choices and friendly throughout the visit. Although there were quite a few diners there, I didn't feel much of an atmosphere here. Hooray for restaurants with comfy chairs that make a longer stay just that bit nicer. Overall, a very good experience here worth returning.
By far the best Persian restaurant in Melbourne. Yummy food, super quick service even though it was a busy night and almost all tables were full and more importantly, lovely staff with great customer service. Keep it up guys!
They charged me all price of food when I cancelled my order only within 2 mins via uber eat! Tbh, it wasnt fair at all! I got surprised when it was mentioned they already prepared my order while it took time to serve food as dine in!!
