Visited on a Friday afternoon as a group with a booking. Shop was surprisingly empty when we first arrived at 12pm, but started to fill up at about 1.30pm. There was also a live performance which was pretty nice and added to the atmosphere. Wait at the bar wasn’t too long and service was great. Food: 9/10 - only cause portion could have been slightly bigger for the price Price: 8/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Service: 10/10
Great daytime lunch vibe with live music - awesome performer with solid song choices! The food was delicious Barra burger and lamb pie and free house wine/beer with each meal purchase - pretty impressive. Laid-back and quality service, a must-go venue!
Short cocktail list, but Katie makes a fantastic Mojito, recommended. Great live music with Dusty Lee Stephenson. Nice environment to eat and drink in. The stag has a problem with customer communication. I left messages in multiple ways, no one answered. Couldn’t find a phone number for the Stag.
The wait to be served on a busier than usual Sunday afternoon was a bit longer than it should've been. When our cheeseburgers arrived it was simplified to just the amazing basics. Too good for a photo. Nice chill sounds and some interesting pics on the wall to spark conversation!Food: 5/5
A good lub to go for happy hour and nice pub food when staying in the city. The drinks were cheap and the bowl of fries were awesome. The staff were also quite hospitable and friendly.
This place is our local for a reason. Good staff and importantly very low staff turnover. Good range of craft beers and wine. Sunday arvo live music is always chill. Fish tacos hit the spot every time.Food: 4/5
Food was spectacular obviously just pub food, but done really well. Cheese burger was tasty as heck, schnitty was juicy and fresh chicken. Beers were good, would have liked an IPA or nice pale on tap, but the modus xpa was good, and that's just my personal taste for craft beers anyway. Staff were friendly and chatty too. Will go back!!
Often frequented this pub and was always satisfied with the service and food. BUT TODAY, waited 50+ mins for my food and when i asked about the wait on my food, one of the bartenders said “it has only been 30 mins” as if it was normal to wait this long. Large table of 12 next to us got served food first although they ordered later than us. Extremely disappointed with the service and wait
Turned up at The Stag today for drinks before lunch - 11:55 “were shut mate”, one of 3 staff behind the bar says “ come back later, we open in 45 minutes…. “ The Pretty Bar boys must need more time to do their hair , meanwhile the 10 of us are enjoying the Air conditioning at The Austral
Great pub. Great atmosphere and my meal was pretty tasty too. The staff were really friendly and helpful with recommendations.
