Everything was absolutely mind blowing. I was in love with all the gourmet goodies for sale in the cafe and beautiful warm ambiance. I chose to the granola which was perfectly conceived and executed and gobsmackingly delicious. My partner got the lamb shoulder omelette which was easily the best tasting omelette I’ve had. We also tried the Roman baked gnocchi with eggplant and sweet and salty cashew nuts. This was such a special dish for me and such an interesting and unique way to serve gnocchi that is different to the traditional construct we always see. The flavours here were outstanding. I don’t recall enjoying a dish so much in a long time. Fresh ingredients combined with something different to surprise and delight the palette renders this cafe utterly exceptional in my book
Great spot for brunch and lunch. The Asian Hakka inspired menu is the highlight. Some notable dishes are the Thunder Tea Rice, braised pork knuckle and Yong tofu. Coffee is good as well. Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
I went into this cafe for a quick breakfast. I ordered a soy latte and poached eggs on toast. Both were great! I did seem that the barista was on his own on a Saturday as his was cooking the meals, making coffees and serving takeaways at the front. Felt sorry for him as it would’ve been an exhausting day on his own. He was very apologetic and kind.
What a lovely restaurant with a mix of western and Asian cuisine. Had the wonton noodles soup. Requested to have the soup changed to laksa soup and they were so nice to oblige. Will be back to try their thunder rice which looked great! Parking: Off street parking 1 to 2 hour limit mostly.
The service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious! The chicken katsu rice was my favourite and something I highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Very professional coffee I ever drank. This cafe is under new management for a while. New owner is very nice and diligent. We should pay some respect and caring to small business owner in our community. Life is always hard for them. We help them out in order to help us to have better coffee better food and better life in beautiful Melbourne Autumn
First time here! The food and coffee are great. Love their enthusiasm interaction with regular customers! Will definitely come back again.Food: 4/5
It is rare to find a restaurant selling Hakka Thunder Tea Rice in Australia. I'm delighted to have found this restaurant during my getaway trip to Melbourne. Cute little cafe, friendly staffs & great food. Apart from Hakka Thunder Tea Rice, we also had Yong Tau Foo with dry egg noodles and Keropok Lekkor.
What an amazing find! I must have driven past this unique cafe hundreds of times but only decided to give it a go recently. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how warm and friendly the staff were. The menu was interesting and exciting. There were the usual breakfast suspects but it was the lunch menu that really caught my eye. Their Hakka dishes were a pleasant surprise. I’ve never seen them anywhere else in Melbourne so this was quite a treat. The wife had the thunder tea rice which was a feast for the eyes. It was served with a strong herbal soup which when mixed with rice and vegetables was soothingly delicious. The textures added to the whole novel experience. I had the Hakka pork belly which was tender and full of flavour. The broth was delicious and I really appreciated the home cooked feel to the dish. The daughter had the Aglio Olio pasta. This was demolished in record time - full of flavour and cheesy goodness. What a lovely brunch in a lovely setting with lovely service!
A lovely and cosy restaurant with just the nicest owners serving some of the best food. We’ve tried a few of the Asian menu items such as the Buttermilk Chicken with rice, Thunder Tea Rice, Nam Yue Chicken Wings, Abacus Seed and Hainanese Chicken Rice. All a resounding 5 stars! The closest thing you get to home cooked goodness. And at the risk of further unavailability, their mochis are made daily and simply delectable. Red bean is a personal favourite. There are very limited pieces so you’d have to get them early. Keep up the great work guys!
