I was really thrilled to find out that east Melbourne has a One Piece-themed cafe! Visited today on a Saturday and the cafe was packed. The atmosphere was great, staff were friendly, good music and the food was surprisingly delicious too. We tried the Gear 4 Burger, Wagyu Poke Bowl, and the Nutella Milkshake. Everything was really tasty, but the milkshake and burger was definitely a standout for me. The chips could use a bit more salt and seasoning though! And the milkshake looks slightly different to the menu picnnThe themed dishes were well presented, and it was a nice spot for both One Piece fans and anyone looking for good cafe food in Balwyn. I also really enjoyed that we could read manga whilst we wait for our food and the quality and care they put into every detail of this cafe. Would happily recommend to anyone that loves One Piece and definitely will come back again!
Absolutely love the vibe of the place, full of decorations and details from One Piece. Everytime we looked around we noticed a new easter egg and reference from the anime. The matcha and cappuccino were both creamy and tasty, the king salmon and wagyu bowl were delicious. We will definitely come back, keen to try the other menu items especially the sandwiches, burgers, shakes, and desserts.
Review by Instagram@Jolyslife. Follow my Instagram for reviews, lifestyle and travel content.nnYou know how with a lot of themed cafes, the food is usually pretty mid and you only visit once just to tick the box? This One Piece cage is complete opposite it's the kind of place you'd actually want to make it a regular.nnPulled pork sando is packed with flavour, the pork is tender and so saucy!!! Burger was JUICY. Their drinks menu has great variety and so creative, the colours are so fun and the flavours aren't too sweet, so refreshing!nnPrice wise it's a bit higher than a normal cafe but compared to other themed cafe I've been to, it's actually not too bad! And ofc, the interior is so cool, fully immersed in the One Piece World here. Definitely worth checking out.
I was really impressed with this cafe! I feel like One Piece fans and people who have never seen it, can still enjoy the ambiance. I have personally only seen the first 20 episodes or so and am pretty unfamiliar with a lot of One Piece.nnThe food is genuinely really good. There's some places like this that make their good look good, but it tastes really average. But this place makes sure the food looks good and tastes great.nnI had the vegan poke bowl and it was super flavoursome. Some of the prices on the menu seem a little dearer than I'd usually like to pay, but I think it's a reflection of the area it's located in, and the fact it's a unique themed cafe.nnThe service was good too. The staff were friendly. Food came out in a timely manner.
after eyeing the cafe from outside for several months, i decided to come here for brunch with some friends. the cafe was rather busy at the time so understandably food would have taken a little longer than usual to be served. when we decided to sit outside since the interior was full, we were taken down this narrow path into a rather secluded dining area in the back?? still kept in theme with several hanging posters of anime characters but certainly not what i envisioned to be eating at after all those months.nwe then decided to share a black rock freak shake. presentation-wise, definitely freaky as, but taste-wise? regrettably underwhelming. what i thought was fairy floss on top hardened into an unanticipated lump as my teeth clamped shut on it, and the nutty flavour told me that it probably wasn’t fairy floss even. we then decided to order some poke bowls. after about 15 minutes, the lady came up to us informing that they couldn’t do brown rice for one of the poke bowls because they had run out, so we changed to white rice. 5 minutes later, she returned saying that they had even run out of white rice! either this place has had unforeseen popularity for the day, or maybe they need to plan their food orders better.ni hate to say this, but quality of the spaghetti bolognese is probably something you could make at home. bland, oily i’m talking a puddle of oil at the bottom of the bowl. cutlery service was also quite inconsistent not given enough cutlery or napkins and we had to ask for them more times than i liked.
