I had a great breakfast here. The staff were absolutely exceptional, and the food was both tasty and great value for money. We got an Eggs Benedict and an egg and bacon sandwich, and both were really good! I particularly liked the homemade I think barbecue sauce on the egg and bacon sandwich. The iced chocolate was nice, but not amazing though, so I'd recommend getting something different. Even still, I really enjoyed my visit here, and would highly recommend it!!!
Busy little cafe in a nice part of Albury. Lots of seating available and friendly staff. Menu full of lots of choices reasonably priced. Coffee of good ilk Padre but the barista on the day didn't do the blend the justice it deserves. Perhaps the issue I think I had was the menu almost had too much on it which caused a bit of backup in the kitchen. Our food and coffee was able to be ordered promptly and delivered quite quickly, but we couldn't help but overhear three other tables with some type of timing complaint. The staff on were doing a great job and the cafe was heaving with only one or two tables free and a line of people waiting to collect their takeaways, so maybe I was just experiencing the peak Sunday brekky trade and there was a slight lag in the kitchen. I would go back as there were some other interesting things on the menu and it's fairly convenient to get to off the highway on the way through.
Looking for a breakfast spot and spotted The Proprietor, it was VERY busy, full tables, people lining up waiting for takeaways . Was told there was a wait of 30mins so they could catch up as being public holiday they were slammed! Staff were very gracious, organised and within 10mins we’d place coffee order… delicious then not long after food order was taken. Wait for food was worth it‼
On our trip back from Melbourne we had our pleasant stop at Albury and in search of brunch and stumbled upon the Proprietor, they offered delicious infusions with varieties of sandwich to stews for a generous price. Would definitely return if we were to pass Albury for a bite before a trip.
popular spot with seating outside & small tight area inside felt a little cramped , very close to the next table, Theres table service with friendly staff, Food was enjoyable, Wife swears the OJ was not freshly Squeezed as she asked for bottled ?. Mocha was nice , No coffee flavour options eg, Vanilla..
I walked in and it was standing room only, i was given a table quickly and the waitress was very polite despite how busy the venue was. Coffee and food was AMAZING and when mentioning i was coeliac she quickly went through the kitchen prep that would be taken to ensure i wasnt going to be ill. I am so-o impressed i will highlight my experience on the SA coeliac FB site, as an interstate safe eatery. Thankyou staff and management!
Very busy this morning, however the staff had us seated quickly and our order taken. Coffee and food came out promptly. Excellent in all respects, but do try the delicious homemade beans. We both had them as a side to our bacon and eggs.
Very Mouthful amount of food, but very long wait for having that delicious food.
The Proprietor was always my favourite place to eat when living in Albury. I was disappointed to see the quality had reduced when visiting this morning. Its farm to fork ethos appeared to have changed, with local ingredients no longer used. Corners were cut and parts of my breakfast weren’t cooked properly. But it still was tasty, and it was doing a roaring trade, so others must be happy with it. I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop here on a road trip but would go again if I was in Albury.
Good food, nice ambience but the service was incredibly slow. Despite factoring in the weekend rush, the service was lacking in terms of responsiveness and time. We had to repeat an order twice for it to be brought out. The glass of prosecco took about 15 minutes to be brought to the table. One of us did not even order because we were concerned that the food would take more than half an hour. Most likely understaffed that would explain this but quite unhappy with the service.
