Highly recommend this great place for a scrumptious breakfast. nWe stumbled across The Pickers Union nearly two years ago and made plans to head back there when we were heading down the coast.nGreat breakfast, we have all been happy with our delicious selections.nA lovely environment with indoor, courtyard and outside seating.nClose to silo art and a fun vintage market!
Nice outdoor seatings where you can bring your furry friends for a meal. Nicely shaded from sun till early afternoon. Not sure about late afternoon sun. As for the food, taste alright. Pretty expensive and portion quite small. Not worth the price. The wild Mushrooms comes with a poached egg looks small, Mushrooms and a slice or source dough which costs $24.50. Calamari salad cost $25 for a small bowl with only a few cut Calamari. Loaded fries cost $18 for a small bowl too.
I'm leaving this review from when I visited with my partner and my mother in law back in May, but this is because the experience at Pickers Union was unforgettable.nnThe morning was chilly and we arrived to a warm, inviting Pickers Union. We were greeted with open arms by the establishments owner, a man whose style and grace lit up the room. He directed us to a table, near a window greeted by the morning sun.nnWe had coffee and made hay while the sun shined. Breakfast foods of all sorts graced our table, both savoury and sweet, crunchy and creamy, traditional and experimental. Flavours clashing and mixing in a perfect cacophony of mouth feel and taste.nnAfter our meal concluded, we were surprised with a special dessert that the owner presented to us for our feedback. It was magnificent. Truly an unbelievable and enjoyable experience.nn10/10.
Coffee it’s great, but that’s the second time I’ve had breakfast there and both were overpriced for what was delivered.nEggs BenedictnOne wafer thin piece of sourdough and undercooked eggs with the inside still clear. Flavour was average and the pre cooked cold bacon didn’t do it any favours at $25
We are here today- Really disappointed with our experience. We waited 35 minutes for our food while at least three other customers who arrived after us were served before we were. It was a very quiet day, so the delay was even more frustrating. There was no explanation and no apology — we were simply left waiting.nWe were dining with a toddler, which made the long wait even harder. Anyone with young children knows how important timing is when eating out. A simple update would have made a big difference.nThe cleanliness was also unacceptable. The cups we were given were not clean, and there were leftover plates from previous patrons still sitting on tables. Birds were eating from the plates and even perching on tables. Our own table had bird droppings on it, and we had to clean it ourselves before we could sit down properly. That is not something customers should have to do.nTo make matters worse, we ordered a gluten-free meal, and the person who ate it is now feeling unwell. That’s extremely concerning, especially when dietary requirements are clearly communicated when ordering.nOverall, the service, hygiene, and handling of dietary requirements were extremely disappointing. We won’t be returning.
