After a lengthy wait for our almost inedible meals, we asked if we could get new pieces of toast as ours were cold, burnt and dry. We were told by the lady who I am assuming is the owner that we are no longer welcome and either is our money. She threw it at my mother and stormed off. I have never been treated so poorly as a "would be" paying customer and I have never witnessed an owner of a small business throwing business away in such a bad manner. Her attitude was disgusting, and she clearly cannot deal with constructive criticism. In a small town and a place where there are many cafes to compete with, I would be very careful about the way you treat customers because business won't last long. I do hope no one else experiences anything like this here again, and I would also hope she can turn things around and welcome ALL patrons to dine with a friendly attitude.
Lovely chilled out Sunday cafe. Our local most weekends. Consistently yummy food and good service. Excellent coffee. Nothing pretentious like some of the cafes in Pakington st.... Who think they are Melbourne.
Big breakfast was enough, but not really 'big'. One piece toast, one piece bacon, half a chorizo, 2.5 mushrooms and some spinach. Components all fine. Ricotta pancakes fine, but cinnamon cream mismatched with 'fruits of the forest' frozen berries accompaniment. Small square of fudge served with coffee superb, but not available for purchase yet. Lemon curd tart and Yo yo taken for afternoon tea fine, but yo yo maybe could have been sweeter. Huge for the price $4 though.
This is going to be my stopover Cafe everytime I head into Geelong. I have not tasted smoked salmon so good, and poached eggs done to perfection, with just enough hollandaise sauce. And the pure apple juice. All these great food would have been nothing without the warm friendly atmosphere.
Some lovely food at rushbrooks, well worth heading in for a morning breakfast. It can be quite cramed, and full at times. So just watch out for a table out the pack. Edit: I came today for a discussion, ordered a coffee, 20 minutes later, no coffee.
Great breakfast and coffee is ok, big breakfast is absolutely huge! Good selection of teas, can get busy though, however well recommended.
Sat down with a menu, no one came to take my order, so after 15 minutes left and had lunch elsewhere. I figure if they can't organise staff to take an order the food can't be that good.
Walked into this fine establishment for the very first time and the service i received was already an indication of how wonderful it is. If you're ever wanting to feed not just your body but your soul, I suggest stopping by.
A fun quirky cafe on Pako. Love the extra seating area out the back! Great menu, great vibes, what more could you want?
We go there on a semi regular basis and always find the food is always nice, fresh & yummy. Nice relaxing place to eat
