Excellent place to stay in Castlemain. Very clean and well presented rooms. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the local area. Even have a small breakfast as well. Toast, cereal coffee, tea, yoghurt and fruits. Off street parking available, decent wifi connection. Also just around the corner from an excellent brewery.
The owner and manager, Maggie and Alan were very friendly and helpful. Our room was called the 'Heysen Room' after Hans HeysenThe room with private bathroom was excellent. The room had polished timber floors with rugs, air conditioning, TV, nice clean beds, bathrobes. paintings on the walls. A very nice ambience. There is a communal fridge you can use. The continental breakfast is excellent and included tea, coffee, toast, cereals, yoghurt and fruit. All in all a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay in Castlemaine.
Stayed three night over the weekend with my husband & enjoyed this charming & interesting hotel in Castlemaine. A big thank you to Alan, our host, who gave us many useful tips on places to visit & things to do in the area..A pleasant change from motel accommodation. Light breakfast included.
We stayed overnight at the Northern Arts Hotel last weekend. Easy and friendly check in with Alan, super comfortable and warm room. We particularly enjoyed the electric blanket that was left on for us on arrival, and the complimentary room upgrade. Will stay again when we are next in Castlemaine.Rooms: 5/5
I went yo see a performance. It was a wonderful night. It started with owner Maggie inviting me to the staff dinner, so grateful. A lot of fun, Gillian Eastoe and her amazing guitarist playing partner Terry Murray we very professional show. Seeing a show not just a band in a pub. The rooms were warm and cosy.Thoughtful care.Loved the continental breakfast, the gluten free museli was very tasty? Where do they buy it? So glad I made an effort on a Thursday night as I buzzed asl the way to Sunday. Thank you Victoria
Comfy beds, beautiful rooms, great service Greg was very welcoming and lovely!. Having a great stay! Will definitely be back! Rooms: 5/5
Delightful old hotel in historic Castlemaine. Eclectically decorated in rooms and common areas. Rooms are generous and comfortable. Live music sometimes. Walking distance to restaurants and bars in the Castlemaine town centre.
Maggie has created the most warm, open , comfortable and inviting environment. The Northern Arts Hotel is full of delight and quirks. If you are staying in Castlemaine try to book a room here. It's loaded with charm and a fabulous Bohemian style.
We loved our stay here. The hotel has old world charm and decor that made us feel at home straight away. We chose a room with an en-suite. It faced the main road, which was at times noisy from passing traffic, but not unbearable. Located within walking distance of many popular attractions and cafes. Our host Maggie was wonderful and very friendly. The hotel feels more like a guesthouse with social events that include movie nights and art exhibitions. A good experience for us.
The Northern Arts Hotel is a unique and welcoming place to stay. Maggie is warm, friendly and an experienced hotelier and the accommodation is simply charming. Art lines the walls, a baby grand sits in the corner and the locals love to chat and fill you in on the history. As a single female traveler, I found the hotel clean, comfortable and companionable. Walking distance into town, so I felt very safe making my way on foot, to find a meal at night. Recommend you contact the Hotel directly to book, instead of booking through an App.
